      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

  1. More agricultural amendments: Hoes and ploughs

If you take a look at the thread about carts and wagons I think this thread and that one would work really well together. The plow could be implemented as sort of vehicle that gets towed behind a horse, it would till any blocks it is pulled over, they wouldn't need to be dirt and it would make the stones on the ground pop off. They would also have a passive hydration in them so that you do not directly need a water source, but you would need rain or a source if you actually want your crops to grow with any speed.
  2. Make Horses less pointless and cooler

So the roads, would they have to be chiselled into increments using the slab function? Would this add dirt as something that could be used as a road, and if it is, could the dirt "erode" under the tracks like using a chisel on them so that rutting occurs. This would provide a pretty good system of road maintainance I believe. Yes that could be difficult to maintain with large road networks, but then you could replace it with cobble which wouldn't experience these effects or at least not to the same degree as the packed dirt roads. Also, would the player be able to ride on the cargo wagons so that they have more control over it. Another player could follow as the guard.
  3. hosting server max 20 people

name:Jonathan ign:Wandering_eye age:16 why do you want to join: I have never been able to get into a TFC multiplayer server as I am looking for a small comunity one and the ones that I find are already full. I think this one would be good as 20 people is enough to set up a complex world without overcrowding. what skills will you bring to the server: I would like to function as a leather worker, weaver or blacksmith, creating useful objects for people around the server. Other than that I wouldn't really mind what I did, just ask and I will do my best to fill the role you want. How often would you play: Most days for about an hour or two. Skype: 'Jonathan Dallas' (yes, I know there are a lot of them, might be easier if I added you)
  4. Realistic weather and seasons

On The subject of time between weather, I believe it can be stored in a variable because with the command for changing the weather, you are also able to specify a time that weather remains for. TFC could edit this variable depending on the season, maybe make the time between rains be longer in summer and shorter in the winter. This could be achieved by giving each little segment of a season a value which it would change the time between weather by.
  5. World Generation controls.

How about the world spawns with a sort of general biome like Scottish highlands or African which would limit temperatures, rainfall and EVT(Highlands would be wetter and colder, Africa drier and hotter). You could either leave this as random or select which one you want. This would improve the feel of a sort of continental world and create more realistic survival scenarios so you can't just go run for a while and have every food in the game, instead the world would have certain foods which can't spawn. This allow control of temperature, biomes available to your world and what foods you can get (maybe ores and rock types as well!) This could also work with the world limit by setting the world limits within certain co-ords so the climate doesn't go out of the believable climate for that world biome. This creates a scene for a server and more believablity for the game which if I am not mistaken is one of the goals for TFC. No idea how difficult this would be to implement, but from what I know it is achievable.
  6. Make Stone Age Longer.

With the ores to create a bottleneck you could instead have them as natural alloys (Copper was made from this sort of material and the first bronze was probably made from copper which contained arsenic/tin so you could create it by accident or intentionally add those ores) which you need to right click in your hotbar with a pro-pick to discover it's composition so you can create actual alloys, that would stop people jumping straight from stone age to bronze age unless they had good luck. As well as this the ores you find could have a randomly generated weight just like the crop system which would create a more believable ore system than making any ore you find be one of three sizes. My idea for the straw limitation is that from grass it is just a chance you will get straw and you can only create one object a time in a pit kiln which would mean you have to be past your first harvest to have any reliable source of straw and create straw shelters. This also limits progression to metal which is what is desired.
  7. [Offline] Co-Op TFC Server, Skype, 24/7

Hi, my name is Jonathan. I am a 16 year old geek who is interested in social gaming and have been looking for a server of this sort for a long time. I really enjoy the challenges of TFC and would like to tackle it with some other people who like it as much as I do. In TFC i am quite competent at building and have managed to progress into the mod well into the late bronze age (still haven't found the time to get fully into the iron age). I have about 4 hours spare time most days between 4am and 9am GMT to play TFC most weekdays. IGN: Wandering_eye PM me for my skype name if I can join you in your quest for survival in the world of TFC.
  8. With the maps a good mechanic would be that the map did not show your location, you would have to work out your location from the terrain around it. This would add to the immersion and believability of the game whereas just being able to see exactly where you are at a glance just seems wrong to me.
  9. [Offline] Vanilla TFC Roleplaying server (new) whitelist

  10. Riverbend

Well, that looks amazing, good to see that some people can appreciate good building in survival (not purely thatch houses)
  11. TFC Endgame - To the Clouds!

instead of a dirigible, why not have a leonardo di vinci style glider wich doesn't allow flight as such but you can glide for some distance out around a mountain. That would be just fine for flight I think.
  12. Archery Overhaul

Back to the subject of bows. As a metal age bow, why not a crossbow made by smithing metal limbs, carving a wooden stock and adding string or cord or whatever. The crossbow would have really good damage but insane reload & draw time. This would create a new use for the carving interface and a further tier of bow progression. Also the limbs quality would be affected by both fletching/archery skill and weaponsmithing.
  13. Water Pump the TFC Way edited again

I think pipes could be probable, if they connected to vertical wooden support beams and behaved similar to horizontal support beams. As well as that water would only flow along them for 8 blocks (or maybe 16 so there is a point to using them instead of just having flowing water) this could be a way to use pipes with the pumps.
  14. An Aesthetic Use for Gems

Yeah, jewellery like that would be really cool. But even now for jewellers to cut diamonds they have to use other diamonds. So sorry that means no diamond rings for anyone .
  15. Responsible Forestry

Also on this, how about normal trees have a growth system similar to that of fruit trees, beacause can't really expect a metre tall sapling to suddenly transform into a 20 metre tall tree in seconds?
