      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

Directions: Ask a question that the person who posts after you will answer. Also, answer the question of the most previous poster when you post. No double posting. Be nice; respect their opinions Have fun! I'll start: Your favorite anime soundtrack (if appicable)?
  2. Anyone know how to make chainmail?

I do. Its really cool. It makes me feel like a medieval craftsman when you do it. Granted, I'm not the best at it, but I'm pretty good... Currently I am working on a small patch of European 4:1. I'll post a pic when I'm done. EDIT: Here are some pics of some patches I did. 3. Cubic Chunks in TFC

Has anyone seen the mod Cubic Chunks? It was a mod back in the day of 1.7.3 Beta, and it stopped being maintained around 1.0. Basically what the mod did was increase the height limit - to 65504 blocks. This would normally cause a lot of lag, but what is did was this. Instead of having each chunk 16 x 16 x 65504, it made each chunk 16 x 16 x 16. Hence cubic chunks. Now I was thinking, wouldn't it be awesome if this was implemented in TFC? There could be gigantic mountains, and breath-takingly deep ravines. Underground, and above ground generation would be far more dynamic. You could have Mt. Everest, or the Mariana Trench. I realize that the full 65504 blocks would not really work as it would need a render over haul to even come close to seeing the mid-way of a large mountain, let alone the summit. I am not suggesting 65504, but more like 8192, or 16384. But answer the poll on that front. Eternal, don't get all rage at me (or arch, noodles, or anyone) and say "JUST USE THE EFFIN' SEARCH BAR!!!!", or something along those lines. I did in fact use the search bar, and four posts came up. 3 of them, there haven't been posts since like September or August, so I left those alone. But the underground lakes one, was only discussed in brief detail. so I decided to start my own topic. If one of you rages at me and says it has already been discussed, then pardon me and feel free to get a mod to lock it. (or even worse, brutally derail it! ) I would like to see you guys' input and feedback on this topic. Let this be the official Cubic Chunks topic!
  4. Conditions for Grass Spreading

I have some questions about how grass spreads. Does it require a certain rain, evt, temperature, etc. value? Will it grass from one type of dirt spread to another type of dirt?As much info as I could get about grass would be good. thanks.
  5. Riverbend

You don't need trapped chests to place chests on top of each other. This has been a vanilla feature for quite some time now, just make sure you have a transparent block above the top chest. Trapped chests are for placing chests next to each other without a block in between. You can't make those in TFC.
  6. Ask the person below you

Because everyone else lurks moar. Why? (Come on, give a nice answer! XD)
  7. Ridiculous Suggestions

We could also have the ability to bind souls to suits of armour!
  8. What do you guys think about removing some of the teleport commands? AFAIK, we have /home, /t spawn, and /tpa right now. I think 3 commands to get around the world makes travelling around the TFC world trivial, and that's part of the fun and challenge in TFC especially on a server, making goods harder to transport. /tpa is probably the most overpowered. I propose that either some of these commands be removed or have a cost added to them (if that's possible).
  9. Snow

I believe snow balls drop if you drop water on it.
  10. Info about smelting alloys in vessels

There are 4 different amounts of units a single ore piece can have. On the surface, you can find nuggets (10 units) and if you go mining underground, (or get lucky with some surface exposed ore) you can get poor, normal or rich ore at 15, 25, and 35 units each. 1. Yes, 100 units is one tool head or ingot when casting. 2. You can have as many units of metal in a vessel as the vessel can hold. This means the max is 4 stacks of rich ore, or 64 rich ore. 64 * 35 = 2240 units. You can get 22 ingots with some leftovers max from one vessel, granted you use all rich ore. EDIT: My bad...units, not ingots.
  11. Either one is fine, as long as it doesn't take the challenge out of travelling by just setting up outposts. I like the enderpearl cost.
  12. There is a trade booth's mod that someone on the TFC forums wrote. It's by aeroc.http://www.minecraftforum.net/forums/mapping-and-modding/minecraft-mods/wip-mods/1443329-1-6-4-smp-forge-916-trade-booth-mod-0-6-4-1
  13. One of the servers I used to play on used CustomNPC's to sell items at spawn and the mod had coins.
  14. Frames and Plaster (scaffolding and building block)

That isn't true. You can also use smooth stone and raw stone.
  15. Implementing Colored Glass, Stained Glass, and Glassblowing!

But just because glass is made from pure copper doesn't also mean you can make red clothes from pure copper. If you just have an all-purpose red dye, that is literally the same thing as the current vanilla/TFC dye mechanic, with one item being a red dye. The only difference between what you're saying and what I think we're trying to avoid is that instead of grinding up hematite to make rose red dye, you make it from copper. Your suggestion is just the same thing with different items. We have to use different dye types for clothes or carpet and glass, because the colour in glass is from minerals or other compounds that are "part" of the glass, as opposed to, say, a leather jacket that was dyed red which is only red because there is a coating of some red compound on it. If you cut the jacket in half, it won't still be red on the inside.
  16. Implementing Colored Glass, Stained Glass, and Glassblowing!

This is essentially (as I understand it) the same as the vanilla dye mechanism that Dunk was trying to avoid isn't it?
  17. Items with building (structure) requirements

It does? I've only ever seen it go up. My bad. But even then, I still think the smoke should despawn over time as well as by hitting the build limit, because it wouldn't be able to go through spaces such as opened doors because the doors occupy a block. It would kind of simulate the smoke dissipating through various cracks and openings to the outside world.
  18. Tool right-click info

Even if breaking the block was less "satisfactory" or "practical" than using your proposed right-click function, (which it isn't) why go to the trouble of making a whole new feature that saves some TFC player literally not more than a few seconds at most and usually not even one second. Like Maga said, this is just unnecessary. I personally can distinguish most blocks anyway, and even if I forgot, it's not a big deal if I break one of the many blocks in the game. Most of the times, it's beneficial to break it, albeit slightly (more/new rocks, more saplings, more materials in general).
  19. If you regenerate the chunks, then won't that mess up the look of the terrain gen between the old chunks of people's buildings and the new chunks? Like they won't join up...sorry, I haven't ever really used MC edit.
  20. That's ok. This is the most appealing server I've found and look forward to playing on it with my friend who I'm waiting for to be ready. How many players are generally on the server?
