      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

      There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
      If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
      I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

  1. Racoon *FINAL*

    I made a few small adjustments to the model here to reduce the fatness of the model. I slimmed the body and haunch boxes so that they were smaller. This gives off a smaller vibe without making the head seem too over-sized IMO. I lowered the main body so that it is slightly below the head. Having the bodylower to the ground makes the model seemsmall. This model might even look better if the body was 1 pixel wider. MCMCRacoonV2.MCModel

    I will work on some alternate skin layers after I finish up the few other models that I have in progress right now.
  3. Giraffe *FINAL*

    Thanks for kicking off this animal Darmo. I have made a few small changes so far. The ears hanging outside the head felt a little odd to me. To counter this I made the ears be slightly pushed inside of the head. (Roughly .1) The angle of the ears is also slightly modified.I also changed the gizmo location to be in the same location on the ear for both of the ears. This makes moving the ears easier as the numbers for the ears are almost identical to each other now. The texture has also received an update in regards to the top of the head and the horns. The horns are dark on the top and gradually lighten as the horn nears the head. This is similar to the head. The middle and rear sections of the head are darker and the texture gradually gets lighter the farther out from the middle. Small amounts of noise have also been added to the rest of the head and nose as well. I will consider adding a mane once I have finished texturing the rest of the giraffe. Finally, we come to the eyes. Evil giraffe, albeit slightly funny, is replaced with a much more docile looking eye texture. Adding the second row made the eyes look a lot less intimidating.     It must be an account problem. This image below is a print-screen of my computer on Internet Explorer. Selecting the 'choose files' hyperlink works fine for me. I used the hyperlink to attach this print-screen. I am not sure if this is fire-fox related though. Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge both seem to work fine for uploading.
  5. Future of Building in tfc2

    The reasoning behind the one stone layer per island is mentioned above by Bioxx. His logic is as follows, The benefit of this system is the huge veins that Bioxx mentions. It also looks like he has plans for better mining and caving. A problem arising from this would be the lack of stone typesthat you mentioned. However, I do not find this as much of an issue. I welcome the lack of materials as they force the player to try new things. Personally, I find copy and pasting a house everywhere to be a boring way to expand. This also makes a sort of realism to be building of bases in the areas. I doubt people in ancient times dragged specific kinds of trees/stones to build there homes. They likely used the local materials to protect themselves. One example of local material usage comes from my vanilla singleplayer. The only biomes close by are birch forest and desert. Normally I would never use birch wood in general. However, because of the lack of other lumber I must use it. Sandstone is a block that I rarely use as well. Finding the right way to make these blocks go together is a fun challenge IMO.

    Nevermore, allow me to kindly refer you to point 6 that Kitty posted back in January. I personally would rather wait for TFC2 to come along naturally, rather than have a rushed too-many-cooks situation that diminishes the quality of the end result.

    Is this fish population value get accounted for when fishing with a rod? For example, is it better to walk around through different chunks while fishing with a rod? Or does it not matter? Also is raining vs not-raining taken into account for the wait time to get a fish to bite?
