      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

  1. Dimensions?

Will we get to visit other dimensions like the nether in TFC2? With magic being a likely feature, it would make perfect sense to leave them in the game as something for mages to do.
  2. Smithing depth

I really like that idea of etched runes in tools. Those runes could be used to channel whatever form of magic is coming to TFC in the future, like a dual purpose wand.
  3. Effects caused by pain

What's with the blindness everywhere? I'd like to be able to see whats attempting to murder me, so I can murder it back. The other effects make sense though.
  4. Electrical energy!

I like this idea. The copper wires could be placed like Red Power cables, and electricity could be conducted in circuits of wires instead of just lines. The generators could just be primitivebatteries, because during the scientific revolution most people just used big batteries for their experiments. Speaking of experiments, here are a few ideas that might fit into TFC: Electrolysis -We could use electricity to rip apartsubstances and get new substances, like sodium and chlorine from salt, or hydrogen and oxygen from water. This could expand on alchemy, and be used toprankyour friends. RudimentaryMotors- If a mechanical power/machine system is implemented, we could craftrudimentarymotors from wood and magnetite, used to produce electricity from spinning cogs and axles, or to create rotational energyfrom electricity. This would also allow the player to produce electricity from windmills and water wheels. Basic Tesla Coils -We could build the infamous Tesla Coil to shock anything within a small radius. It cannot kill, but it will send animals running, and weaken monsters. Advanced Metallurgical Appliances -We could construct heating coils from tungsten/wolframto heat up ovens and we could buildmechanical bellows powered by cogs to heat up furnaces while we're away. No more babysitting that batch of metal!
  5. What the Heck is Redstone Ore?

Well of course Notch didn't give that much thought.I was just statingthe similarities that I found betweenthe magical energydust and a real life crystal. And it'd be pretty neat to have gemstones with uses in TFC2, would it not?
  6. Boats/Rafts

If you don't have a boat perhaps you could be prone to being pulled down into the water by some kind ofdeep sea creature, or maybe a tide could start pushing you back to the island.
  7. What the Heck is Redstone Ore?

In modded Minecraft, redstone is often depicted as some by product of cinnabar. But redstone's properties are not similar to those of cinnabar. Cinnabar is basically mercury ore, nothing very special about it, where as redstone is some sort of piezoelectric crystal. I say this because it's often powered when something bends and warps it, like a button pressing down on it or a lever bending it. I figured that, due to it's interesting properties and it's colour, it's probably red tourmaline. Tourmaline is a piezoelectric crystal and comes in red varieties. So I suggest that instead of acquiring redstone from cinnabar and cryolite, it should come from crushing or refining tourmaline.
  8. Boats/Rafts

What if instead of using only a boat or only a portal, there was a teleportarea around anisland and if you are riding a boat while entering this area, it transportsyou to the shore of the next island. If you don't have a boat, you eventually drown.
  9. Real Fluids

Sorry about that, I said something completely different than what I was trying to say...I have tried these things and they worked. When I said "pumped through pipes and stored in other mod's containers" I was trying the talk about pumping liquidsout of barrels.Being unable to automate a wooden barrel makes sense, so I guess what I was tryingto suggestis some sort of automated barrel. I apologise for my lack of clarity. However, it appears the molten metals arenot real liquid. It'd be pretty neat if you could pour them through ceramic channels into casting blocks, like some kind of industrial smelt-mill. What do you think about the other twoideas?
  10. Real Fluids

Liquids in Minecraft behave in a very odd manner, and I think TFC2 shouldaim to change how they work. Instead of having infinite sources that spread outwards like an egg on a frying pan, perhaps water, lava and any other fluids in the world should spread out evenly, creating a puddle of one pixel tall liquid. The only infinite sources of water would be rivers, lakes and oceans. Basically the Finite Liquids mod spliced into TFC. Another thing is those fluids that come from barrels and metallurgical appliances...They should all be real fluids that can be placed in the world, scooped up again, pumped through pipes and stored in other mod's containers. This way it's compatible with other mods and is generally more immersive. I know I'm not supposed to base my postoff things from TFC1, but I've always yearned to make cheese, alcohol and metal smelting factories along sideother mods, and I'd be overjoyed if TFC2's possibilities were broader than it's predecessor. Finally, you've probably noticed I named this topic Real Fluidsand notliquids. That is because gases would be a great addition to TFC2 as well. There could be underground pockets of toxic, or explosive gas to spice up the mining experience. (Maybe you could even bring canaries down in cages to test the air.) The gases could be both block and chunk based.(Like Thaumcraft aura, but not top-to-bottom chunks, that'd be silly.) Large, thick concentrations of gas could occur as blocks that can affect yourbeing, but if it spreads out enough, it goes to the chunk based system where the gas is present in the area, but isn't concentrated enough to do anything. I'm not sure if the gases are possible, but I thought I'd throw that in the post too.
