      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

  1. Is there "good dirt"?

Actually, I though that it was a reference to Disney's Atlantis: The Lost Empire. The character "Mole" speaks with said accent... I'm a sucker for anything involving Micheal J. Fox... lol. Still a decent movie regardless
  2. Iron....

I'm on top of a large range of Gabbro, lol!
  3. Iron....

If you're looking for Iron in Sedimentary Rock, you're going to have a bad time... *after checking wiki* I'm looking at the wiki, and it's saying that You can find iron ore species in sedimentary rock. Outside of Conglomerates (which are a clusterfuck of basically everything), I wanted to know if this was accurately the case. If so, WHY?!?! I apologize if this is off topic, but it seems a bit bizarre for Iron to spontaneously pop up in a bunch of Calcite based rocks. Especially since the Iron would predate the Calcite by a very wide prehistoric age margin...
  4. Dreaming of FTB with this mod

Yeah, guess which mod in Forge DOESN'T use Ore Dictionary...
  5. I was thinking about adding in Sweet Gum species of Tree for this purpose. Would defininately be helpful to have something to register 'rubber' with for all the mods out there. And just to add, You're doing wonderful work. Keep at It!
  6. Dreaming of FTB with this mod

Well, not in the current fashion that they are in, to say the least... And as far as an update on my progress with that, I've had to take care of alot of real life business that has eaten up a majority of my time. Thankfully, tings are getting back into my favor, and I'll be able to use (what little of) my time I have to code the interface necessary for mod compatibility. I apologize for the delay in regards to this work (mostly talking to the TFC community here, idgaf about FTB currently)...
  7. Raw stone

I put the process in spoiler tags in case I get yelled at by purists, lol... Cut off all the sides to an exposed rock block's surface. If there are no sides connecting a 'floating' piece of Stone, it immediately drops itself.
  8. A flood of noobs

Actually, no. It doesn't. The code doesn't burst into flames just because it isn't being touched. It sits there, underused, and kept in the digital sea that is the Internet, waiting for a new user to surface... The other argument of "hogging code" is also invalid. You can't horde copies of data (at least not from the digital perspective, at least)... Thankfully, there are enough 'intelligence checks' in TFC to test users mental tenacity as far as understanding the mechanics of historical stone ages. If they can overcome them, then cool, and good for them. If not, then there is no sense in them whining here about the difficultly over the nature of TFC. Usually these moments of 'a mod getting big' generally create a flood of players who jump into a mod, realize the true nature of the mechanics of said mod, and clusterfuck arguments ensure over the meta-game. These types of things get old, very fast, as those who like the status quo have to argue with those who have know idea what the status quo is, or simply refuse to adopt to it. Personally, I'm just glad that these sorts of things burn themselves out very quickly. Bioxx seems pretty iron-fisted about policies around here. As long as he sticks to his guns, I'm sure the forum will weather 'this storm'.

    [VGH] Hi
  10. Conserning Garnierite

    Well... yeah... /shrug
  11. Conserning Garnierite

Yup! Although, I haven't experimented the world gen. code in TFC to see how/if geological formations are arraigned in the mod. It may be something less random and more formulated that has to be coded, but not 100% sure...
  12. Conserning Garnierite

I NOE DIS!1!11!!!11 I was offering a possible alternative due to the fact that most intrusive ultramafic rock forms at tectonic boundaries. The only true notable difference between the Breccias and Conglomerates is the roundness of the internal clasts, as well as the granular matrix in which holds said clasts in place. Since I don't specialize in Sedimentology, I usually don't fuss over the distinction between those granulations, as those factors are primarily decided by weathering and lithification anyway. Plus having Breccias spawn in the TFC world would help some players trace up towards the intrusive, mafic rock. Since that's part of the problem in the OP's post, having an intermediate layer of stratigraphy to "point" to the ore bearing rock layers would help those who pay attention to their environments mineralogy.
  13. If I had take a guess with that, look in SpringPopulate.java and adjust the following lines of code: private boolean boreToSurface(World world, int x, int y, int z) {if(world.isAirBlock(x, y, z))return false;int existing = world.getBlockId(x, y, z);if(existing != Block.stone.blockID&& existing != Block.dirt.blockID&& existing != Block.gravel.blockID&& existing != Block.grass.blockID)return false;world.setBlock(x, y, z, Block.waterStill.blockID);return true; That section needs to be readjusted to its TFC equivalents. It may also be what's keeping the Oil from generating in the first place...
  14. Conserning Garnierite

Since there is occurrence of Garnierite are found in Breccia stratification, Conglomerates are a good candidate to include this resource in drops. Unless Bioxx wants to add Breccia in the game, lol...
  15. 1.6 snapshot

I guess they are trying to get us to take mobs more seriously... *rapid succession of tesla coil discharges* I don't know where they get the idea that we don't...
