      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

      There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
      If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
      I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

  1. Trading with food in TFC

    Since the new food system was implemented in TFC, I've wondered if it's possible to trade with food using mods like Custom NPC's. I know TFC is supposed to be a survival mod but I like to add my own NPCs as the world can get boring when you're alone. Have you tried making trader NPC's dealing with food? Or could it lead to crashing/map corruption somehow?

  3. [Solved] Lags (low fps) when I travel

    There's an issue I kinda ignored for most of my years playing TFC, but lately it's been getting too annoying. Basically, when I travel a lot through a map, my game decreses FPS (both single player and multiplayer) and it's only fixed by relogging. (I think it has to do with chunks). I have both fastcraft and optifine yet the issue persist. Now, my computer is not the fastest of all, but if there's something else you could suggest me to do I'd appreciate it.
  4. Hello Terrafirmacrafters I am willing to start a new nation, centered on a city, and I wish to call it the Kingdom of Kurmingham. The name comes from the town I used to run with jake_the_odd (I wonder if he still plays TFC, I just returned), which had this name. Going to the main topic, the town will be medieval themed, if you want to join, it is in Vividcraft server IP: s8.hosthorde.com:25640 I took us finally into the iron age, there are good sources of metal in nearby mines, and our way to sucess comes real fast! So if you come you could build a house, and do things like blacksmithing and crafting. If you are more rural, you could have your own plot, in which you can farm crops or raise livestock. Note that all this is just planned. Although I finally reached the iron age, and just need to finish the blast furnace and get some animals to dedicate time to building the city. Also, the thread includes a kingdom, so I can reccomend you a spot to start your own town and we associate in a nation, with Kurmingham being the Capital.

    I understand if for some given reason the devs don't want it because it's their mod. But I'd love to learn how to make an addon to deal with that myself.

    I have no coding experience, but I'd like to get my own TFC addon done. I've always been a guy that loves NPCs, so it would include generated structures (villages and lone huts and cabins) and villager mobs. If I could get some advice on where I could start in order to learn I'd appreciate it. I've seen many people make their own addons here so I'm positive someone can show me.
  7. [Solved] Lags (low fps) when I travel

    I solved my problem by allocating more memory (ram) to TFC. Any tutorial on youtube for both MultiMC and Minecraft can help you. Rose to up to 2000-ish megabytes of ram. This is the tutorial I used NOTE: Be sure to check the RAM limits of your PC. If you have a gaming computer you may have way more RAM available than a laptop like me.

  14. I've deducted that metallurgy furnaces can't be made out of metal due to the simple fact that it's like melting ice in an ice pot... The furnace should also melt over with the metal, especially the bloomery, because bronze has a lower melting point than iron (I know iron doesn't melt in the bloomery) but still, by the time the iron is shining white the bronze sheets should be long melted over right? What about if bloomery recipe returned again to being made of stone (mortar in corners, bricks in the sides, and a hole in the center) and blast furnace the same brick recipe but with a crucible? That is more believable to me indeed. Wrought iron wasn't melted with metal machines, but with a simple hole full of coal and iron ore that was fired. So, to melt iron, instead of using a bloomery it's better to use a simple hole... or a simple chimney...

    I got a new idea yesterday. What if we had gas blocks? Properties They could, like water, flow, but not downwards, but gas blocks could flow upwards. In addition, the source block could lift up every 10 seconds, and at 256 height it despawns. Gas Containers and Gas Tanks They could be picked up with a gas container. One of wrought iron will do similar to a wooden bucket. It lets you collect the gas, but you can't place the source. One of blue/red steel will do like the bucket made of the same material. The blue/red steel gas container will place the source. On the other hand, gas tanks are blocks that can hold the gas without it escaping, for storage. It could be made out of fireclay, like a crucible. Now, on the kinds of gas: Air This one is already in the game. You breath with it. Nothing else could be said about it I guess. Natural gas This beauty could spawn in caves with sedimentary or metamorphic rocks, like shale, claystone or others. Natural gas will make mining extremely dangerous. Just placing a torch in a gas pocket will light it in a few ticks, spawning fire blocks all over the place if there are air blocks adjacent to the natural gas pocket. No mobs spawn in a gas pocket. Detecting the gas could be difficult, because it is colorless and odorless. Maybe, because you can't breathe in it, it gives bubbles just like when you're underwater? I don't know if this goes with the theme of TFC, but this gas, apart from being another danger in the caves, could be used for cooking. I don't know if we are either able to refine this gas in TFC's theme. Smoke Results from the burning of wood and coal. In closed areas, smoke can cover an entire room, making it unsafe for health. It can cause poison, to represent intoxication, as well as bubbles, due to the lack of fresh air. However, to prevent smoke from building up, a hole could be made, or a door opened for it to escape. The hotter firepits or forges are, the more smoke per second they release. But forges releases 2 times more smoke than firepits. Bloomeries and blast furnaces could release smoke as well. Steam Hot water, could be used in steam machines, like in Steams addon for TFC.
