      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

  1. First, I'm just putting this here out on a sheer guess because it could also go under "Suggestion" as well. Anyways, I have been thinking about making a map with World Painter and realized that the program I use only works with vanilla minecraft (as far as I know.) Now, I have absolutely no idea how to program, so I won't be able to really get in depth with this thought. Also, this may be something I should ask the program developer, if that is verified, then I'll just go and do that. Your guys's (or girl's) thoughts on this idea?
  2. IGN: Boggination Skype(if any): cooper_boggs What will you be doing on the server?: I'll mainly be connecting with other players, roleplaying, and just in general assisting players as I go along. I have played this mod for approximately 2 years now, and I am just getting back into it after some events occurred in my private life. If you have any questions please feel free to ask them. :]

I'll start out on my own and if things don't go well that way I will just join a town Skype(optional) I'd rather tell you that once I get in, but I do have a skype.
  5. My eyes are bad, hence the font size. Post of inspiration:http://terrafirmacraft.com/f/topic/4823-combat-revamp-opinion-poll/ For the lazy: This suggestion is for adding the following: metal wire, a ring jig, metal rings, chains, chainmail, chainmail padding, and improved armor to the game. For the rest that like reading, let's get started! Metal Wire: To make the wire necessary you'll need your trusty anvil and you basically hammer the wire out while it's stillmalleableuntil the smithing arrows line up and what results from the smithing would be 10 lengths of wire. Ring Jig and rings: To make a ring jig: you'll need 3 wooden planks(P), 2 wooden lumber(L), and a stick(S). S L O O L O P P P You would then right-click it with wire in hand and coils of the metal wire will drop while 1 wire is removed from your inventory. Next, simply put the coil and a pair of shears in the crafting interface and you will get 64 rings (split into 4 stacks) of the metal you used from that one wire. Chains: You now have a pile of rings in your inventory that you can heat all together to working temp, then put them all into the crafting interface and fill the entire thing with the heated rings to get an unfinished chain square that you can then take to the anvil and hammer to completion. Then, you will do that again with the squares to get a sheet of mail (Total cost for a sheet is 81 rings and the fuel used). Sheets and squares of mail will be used for armor, for a moremiscellaneoususe you can make them into unfinished lengths of chain by simply taking the unfinished rings and put them into a line in the crafting interface to get a length of wire (you can combine them up to a length of 30) for enhanced storage as well as a possible currency for role-players. Inspiration for currency use:http://youtu.be/qjDtXF8eC8U?t=4m39s Chainmail armor: A full set of chainmail armor comes in 3 pieces (made of chain, not the padding) consisting of the coif (hood), hauberk (torso and leg armor), and chausses (shin guards). Here are the following patterns for the chainmail: Chain Square (SQ) | Chain sheet (SH) | Nothing (O) Chainmail Coif: 99 rings to make it O SH O SQ O SQ O O O Chainmail Hauberk: 567 rings to make it SH O SH SH SH SH SH O SH Chainmail Chausses: 324 rings to make it SH O SH SH O SH O O O Chainmail Padding: Now, the padding is very simple to produce, just put 2 cloth in the crafting interface to get padding pieces. Then, do the same pattern of the armor you are trying to pad for the padding itself. EXAMPLE: To make padding for the Chausses, use the same pattern that you would with the chains with padding pieces regardless of if the chain items were sheets or squares. Once the padding is made, just put it and the appropriate chainmail armor piece in the crafting interface and now you have functional armor. Improved Armor: To make improved armor, just take a chainmail hauberk, the hauberk's padding, a chestplate, and the legplates and you now have a set of improved armor. Keep in mind that the metal for the chainmail and the plate armor have to be the same kind, otherwise you're just being silly. Armor Stats: In reality, chainmail was made for deterring slashing damage, and it was weak to crushing and stabbing based attacks. With this in mind, its stats would be around this area. Also, if I did my math correctly, the metal required to make a suit of chainmail is 1.5 ingots. That alone will make chainmail a very cheap armor to produce for players, so there will be some balancing that must be done if this is included. Those that know armor production will realize "HEY! It takes WAY much more rings than that to make a suit of the stuff!" and they are right because: A: it doesn't have to be realistic, just has to be believable to work and B: I also make the stuff, and it is a very long and tedious process. I would like to thank everyone who decided to read this post as well. Have a good day!

  8. Ask the person below you

In all honesty, my dream demise would simply be of old age at home with my family members and close friends nearby so that I can give them a speech about life, not to screw things up, and to challenge them to enjoy life more than I did. Enough of such a grim topic! What is your weapon of choice?! (real or fake/anime do count as weapons)
  9. Rings and things: Chainmail armor and related items

The only actual block would be the ring jig, the rest would simply be inventory items. As for the coils, the devs could probably use them later on for improved beds/something that uses coils, or something of the sort, but I do agree with you because if this was implemented it'd kinda be a waste if it were just the coils for chainmail. Irl the process is long and boring, but in the game it'd be quicker and the only thing that would be difficult is figuring out how many rings you'd really need (from my point of view). I definitely agree with the bronze and iron chain being better than leather, because copper is very easy to break. Historically, they did actually have a sort of chainmail trousers, all they were was a skirt of chain that was held onto the body by tying it onto a belt. The use of the chain skirt was to protect the groin area in plate-mail armor because that area wasn't strongly armored and needed protection. Yeah, if this was implemented it'd need some balancing and refurbishing...

  11. The Kingdom of Kurmingham [OBSOLETE] Read new thread

I just came back to tfc actually, the coming two weeks are going to be sketchy for me because they are the finals weeks for my college, but I'll see if I can help out with this. btw, I am glad to see that you are back as well Paolo!
  12. Ridiculous Suggestions

Making TFC only usable with an Oculus Rift for the camera, a wired hammer to break and place blocks, and of course a joystick thing for moving your character.
  13. Alrighty, what I am suggesting is that we get colored glass, but not in the way that we have it in vanilla, where you surround a dye with glass blocks. No, what I am suggesting is glassblowing, a more immersive and... interesting way to make more creations in TFC. As an FYI, this suggestion is made with the intention to use current gameplay elements while making it more believable! In order to make basic, clear glass, you'd now need a tuyere of any metal type, sand and flux in a ceramic vessel, a pit kiln, lead, and a forge. First, you'd bake the vessel with the sand and flux in it to make your molten glass. Then, you'd put the vessel and the tuyere into the crafting interface to get a "tuyere w/ molten glass," which is still hot and you'd need to spin and blow into the pipe to shape the glass into a disk. If you cannot shape the glass once you put it onto the tuyere, you can use a forge to reheat the item, but be careful, for if you heat it too much you will lose the glass and only have a hot pipe left. When you are making the disk, the process would be very much like smithing, where the red "hit" buttons would be replaced with "spinning" and the green "relax" buttons would be replaced with "blowing." Since you will only have one real method of it, the recipes for the glass will have to be randomized to reduce the monotony of making glass. Once the glass is made into a disk, you will get your tuyere back with a small amount of damage done to it along with a disk of glass. Stop! Hammer-time! You then take the disk and a hammer into the crafting UI and smash the disk to get glass fragments. To make a block of glass, you take 8 fragments and surround a molten, unshaped lead ingot to make 10 blocks of clear glass. If you wish to have a bit of color in your glass, you simply put the color dye into the ceramic vessel before you melt it. If you wish to make window panes, simply use the vanilla recipe to make them, but you will get 6 panes instead of the vanilla amount. Now, onto my main reason for this suggestion, making stained glass! To start, simply place a pane so that it isn't a plus-block-thing (place it between blocks/other panes!) then right-click it with a chisel to open up an 8X8 grid interface. To use it, simply place glass fragments into each box to create your stained glass window, but EVERY box has to have a glass fragment in it, or else you'll destroy the pane, getting back only fragments and the taste of your own tears. Once you have made the pattern you want to be the pane, exit the interface and right-click the pane with a molten, unshaped lead ingot to finish it up! Like sculpting, you can use blueprints with it so long as you have the items necessary, and it will work like sculpting as well, so know where you had the pane face! I tried to make this suggestion as immersive and easily stitched in as possible, as well as making a use for lead so y'all can empty your waste-chests of one metal. I thank y'all for reading this and I do hope that you all have a fantastic day/pleasant sleep! For those curious about how you'd make the dyes as they aren't in TFC currently, we'd make dyes using similar processes that were used for making the colors for stained glass IE sulfur for yellow, copper for red, etc mixed in a slurry using the crucible.
