      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

  1. Had a huge spike over the past week of installs of the TFC Alloy Calc mobile app, mostly from Europe. Just wondering what the sudden renewed interest was.
  2. Did a Streamer/Let's Player just do a TFC run?

Haven't had a single complaint. To the contrary, it's had a spike in users. I'll do a brand new set for TFC2 when (if) it ever comes out.
  3. Did a Streamer/Let's Player just do a TFC run?

As I said on that thread, I have the source for the web version, but I no longer have the keyfile (been a long time) for the mobile app. So, the web version will be getting an update today.
  4. Infinite Possibility Games presents: TerrafirmaCraft Alloy Calculator Web | Android What it is: A graphical tool for mixing ores and metals to produce the specific alloy you're looking for in the quantity you need. How to use: Simply follow these links: Web Version (runs in any HTML5 compatable Browser, even on mobile devices however it is not touch optimized): http://infinitepossibilitygames.com/TFCAlloyCalc Android version (Free!) via Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.infinitepossibilitygames.tfcalloycalcmobile The calculator is written in HTML5, and as such can be used in any browser which supports it including tablets and smart phones. Note: Web App is not yet optimized for touch devices, but can be used. Your mileage may vary. Web Change Log: (Android Change Log is available in the Google Play Store) 0.7 Alpha -Fixed issue where Sphalerite would be detected as Tin instead of Zinc in the bottom right of the vessel. 0.6 Alpha -Minor bug fix to ore loading - Fixed background image issues on IE - Fixed display of Black Bronze to correctly give Silver and Gold 10%-25% range. Calculations in previous version were using correct formula. 0.5 Alpha - Added color coding to better tell what is going on in the various text boxes. - Unknown Metal now shows up in red, while valid smelting combinations show green - Adding ore now works more like shift clicking ore into vessels in the actual game - Minor code cleanup 0.4 Alpha - Added search bar for ore - Left Clicking ore in vessel now increases the amount of ore - Right Clicking ore in vessel now decreased the amount of ore - Displays an icon of what the outcome of the ore in the vessel will be when smelted - Now shows all possible alloy combinations based on ore currently in the vessel and their percentages - Added splash screen so that updating no longer looks like a black screen doing nothing 0.3 Alpha - Initial public release Known Bugs: - On some versions of IE the resize method uses Linear instead of point causing the ore to look fuzzy and some of the frames to have a line on the inside. This is an issue with IE and as such might not be anything I can do with it. Looking into creative fixes. This is only cosmetic, though, and cause none of the functions to break. Unless you're absolutely chained to it (work won't let you install another browser, mom/dad won't let you install another browser, etc) I would suggest using something better than IE anyway. - Black Bronze's formula displays as needing 10-15% Silver and 10-15% Gold. Still calculates at 10-25%. Will be fixed in 0.6 Alpha Bug Reports and Suggestions: Please post in this topic when you find anything that doesn't work right or if you have suggestions. Artwork used with permission of their respective owners Usage Permission: You have my permission to use this in any recorded video provided you let me know so I can view it! A shout out or mention and a link to the calculator would be grand as well.
  5. They were built with the same sources, with Wiki info that was fresh at the time. (http://wiki.terrafirmacraft.com/index.php?title=Alloys&oldid=12506)So if it's wrong in one, it's wrong in both. IthinkI still have the source somewhere, but I know I don't have the key file for the android app anymore.
  6. TFC has taught me some metallurgy!

I actually have taken up smithing IRL. I can say there's a lot of TFC that is fairly accurate. There's a lot that is...correct for a fun game.
  7. Updated to reflect changes, added link to Android Version, and fixed the subject line to better adhere to forum posting rules. Pushing a new android version that adds in scrolling, so it should make smaller screen phones more usable and scale up to look better on bigger screens for tablets.
  8. Here is the initial mobile app on Google Play. Requires Android 4.0+, and I really haven't had time to re-design the interface, so it is very difficult to use on smaller phones. Rocks on tablets and the larger phones are ok. I will be updating the interface as I have time this week. Free app, one little ad on the bottom. Let me know if you have issues other than "Too small, can't tap anything". https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.infinitepossibilitygames.tfcalloycalcmobile
  9. I have actually been very busy lately, so I haven't had much time to play TFC much less do work on this...however, we're in the process of testing a new wrapper for mobile apps, so I will be making a TFC Alloy Calc Mobile for Android (maybe others later, but I don't have a developer licence for iOS yet). Will post more info when it's available.
  10. If you've run it in the past, it does store the version offline so this only affected those who have either never run the app or those who have their browser settings locked down to where it won't keep offline apps.
  11. Had serious issues with our hosting provider. Have changed providers and we're working to get everything setup again. The AlloyCalc is back up and running, although the rest of IPG isn't.
  12. App that helps you with smelting

It was originally called just Addons, but since Kitty clarified the guides forum to be only for guides, she needed a place to put both your app and mine so she renamed it to Addons and Applications. Just for us. Don't you feel special? I know I do!
  13. Gold, Gold Where are you

The pro pick's reading is based off ore blocks found in the specified radius, so if you mine all of it out, it'll go from V. Large to Large to Medium to Small to not reporting any.
  14. Just a quick update...I haven't had any major time to work on this, but it remain up for use as long as people need it. I'll get around to compiling the current version into node webkit this weekend and putting up an updated "offline" version if I get a chance.
  15. App that helps you with smelting

Luckily the dev tool I used to create the AlloyCalc can take the HTML5/Javascript and use Node Webkit to create executables for Win/Mac/Linux, but since I only develop in a Windows environment I only released the windows executable for mine (and only on one version, only been one minor bug fix since then though and since I don't have time, people will just make due). Look around to see if there's a good wrapper for Java that you could leverage to make it at leastappear to be an executable. No sense reinventing the wheel.
  16. App that helps you with smelting

Knock yourself out. There's plenty of ways you can make something a lot more useful than mine. What I wrote is really more for early game/quick reference. I have plans one day to do something more in-depth but I don't have a lot of time to devote on my project right now. Besides, more choices is always better.
  17. Actually going form 5 to 6. Had a mishap or two along the way and it took a lot longer to get everything back up and running. Doesn't help that I'm also writing an MMO which relies heavily on php/MySQL and we jumped from php4 to php5. Had endless startup issues that had to be fixed by rewriting code that no longer worked or that threw warnings when run.
  18. Yes, actually the site is down at the moment. Upgrading the server software and doing some general maintenance on my dedicated server/domains. Should be back in 24-48 hours depending on how badly upgrading CentOS goes.
  19. Transportation Infrastructure

And I'll agree with the others about code duping. Even in something as simple as the Alloy Calculator I have held off on adding/changing things because I refuse to get into the crap-fest that is duplicated code. It's easy to say "Just do it for this one area", but you'll find that one area of code eventually needs to be expanded/modified or another area of your code depends on it and when you are working to debug problems or add new features you suddenly find that you now have to go back and rewrite not one, but "x" number of sections of code to make the changes you need. Your development time increases and you open up new points of failure in your code (did you change the code by hand? You probably my typed something in there. Realized you need a different variable type in while working on the 2nd duped copy? Great...but you forgot to go back and change the first, etc...) I don't know if bad is the right term for code duping. I think I'd use masochistic.
  20. If you're talking about the offline version: No install. Just unzip and run in the directory. The online version doesn't need an install...just go to the webpage.
  21. Updated main post to add in usage statement.
  22. When (if?) I get around to writing the more advanced crucible interface that is something that's planned.
  23. Those aren't nuggets. That is normal sized Native Copper. 25 units a piece, instead of 10 for the nuggets.
  24. 8 Copper Nuggets = 80 units of copper 2 small cassiterite = 20 units of tin Bronze is 92-88% Copper and 12-8% tin, so that wouldn't work. Just popped that into the calc and it shows Unknown like it should.
  25. Bedroll

I love the firepit idea. That would tie in very well with the body temp if that ever got put in.
