ATTENTION Forum Database Breach 03/04/2019
There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again. -
This forum is now READ ONLY! 01/20/2020
As of this post and forever into the future this forum has been put into READ ONLY MODE. There will be no new posts! A replacement is coming SoonTM . If you wish to stay up-to-date on whats going on or post your content. Please use the Discord or Sub-Reddit until the new forums are running.
Any questions or comments can be directed to Claycorp on either platform.

Awesome! The more views people have to choose from the better

Big fan and I love Matt Smith and Amy/Rory but yeah this last season (which just had its mid-season finale and will be picking back up on the holidays) is just kind of Meh.. And not because we all knew that Amy and Rory were leaving the show.. just overall it was not griping.. And I unfortunately think it is something that could have been fixed by airing the episodes out of order of what we saw them as. The order they aired in Dalek Dinos Mercy Slow Invasion Angels The order they Should have aired in Slow Invasion (Ties in that their lives belong with the doctor) Dinos (Introduces the father in a trip With them, would have to do a little rewrite as the father would be intro'd in Slow Invasion) Mercy Dalek Angels The only one I am not sure about is Mercy.. I would almost think that should have been led with as well (was the episode most hyped since the previous season really and explains that they had not seen each other over the 'break' etc) Anywho Like the show quite a bit .. but this season just seems like filler. I await the holiday special and then moving forward from there.

Because ideas are discussed and kicked around on the forums and if they move forward they are just implemented. The issue tracking system is used only for bugs, not at all for features and such. Question answered, locking the thread

Hey guys the concept of magma forging or lava forging has already been hashed and rehashed.. After I closed the other more up to date post this one was zombied from beyond and has run its course I think when I am on the last page reading about monty python and dragons Soo, going to lock this.
-
Guys I am going to close this. If you want time to move faster then just change the values in the config file as mentioned on the change long instead of trying to redo how long things grow in general.

Some suggestions about making it even more replayable.
Crysyn replied to Leosallespoli's topic in Suggestions
Ignots are random like everything else but the difference is that ingots do not have a durability like the rest of the items so just getting it anywhere in there is good enough. Its the other items where the patterns are off by 1-2 points that makes it so you have to line them up in order to make them perfect... Granted most people do not care any more and just use damaged tools but do be aware that 10% of something like a shovel is a couple hundred uses that are lost by that being a bit off.. It all comes down to if you want those extra uses or if you want to cycle through resources more often. -
I actually wonder if a watering can with X number of block uses would be a viable way to potentially restore nutrients as well as hydrate a bit. Before most of the farming in america became so automated a garden hose or a bucket of water would be a viable way to get water to it.. and in a game where things are condensed a bit like minecraft and TFCraft this may not be a bad idea out of hand. EDIT: Ok guys, I had to delete 2 pages of bullshit to try and save a thread with some potentially good ideas to send to Bioxx for consideration in farming. I did Not alter anyone's warning status or the like but I am going to be just handing out bans of an undetermined length if anything about the off topic posts comes back into this thread.

Would you kindly add all of the following items to the creative inventory, please?
Crysyn replied to ChasedByBees's topic in Suggestions
Hey Chased, this should just be a bug report. I am going to lock this but do ask that you put the information over there as it stands right now, Bioxx adds in to creative what he comes across that is missing -
Would you kindly make SMP TFC compatible with vanilla clients, please?
Crysyn replied to ChasedByBees's topic in Suggestions
Hey guys this would require the server pretty much installing the mods for the people. And while Mojang might do that some where down the line, incorporate SpoutCraft or what not, it is not all that likely to happen for TFCraft. Consider the issue noted but unfortunately this will not be any time soon if ever. -
How Do You Guys Feel About Forevertools [Repairing Tools & Armor]
Crysyn replied to Lumireaver's topic in Suggestions
I liked this idea until the cost of repair is the same price as just making a new tool and that this would only make sense for a system that does not even exist, officially, in TFC... Ah well. -
Yup, your post looked good to me

Another request would be to support CTM with the windows and the book shelves and such. I have started trying to do it on my own but I suck at texturing

Hey Captian, is there any chance of getting the wood tone down work that you did for the plank textures expanded out to the other wooden objects like slabs stairs and supports? And while the stone is starting to grow on me I do think some of the smooth stones need more definition when smoothed as it is hard to tell them apart from their raw format. Diorite and Gneiss are the ones I can recall off of the top of my head. And yeah I have to agree with DarkLadyPheonix, normally I only use a texture pack if it mirrors the vanilla so that what I make has some consistency between the packs, but so far I am breaking that rule for this pack. I would however not be against it moving in that direction a bit

rename it to terrablocks.png and replace it in the zip file if you want to check it out Dude, thanks for this and the quick update in IRC.. The new wood plank textures look very nice.. Here is a shot of Oak and Slab to see the difference (The slabs are still the old oak) and it still has all the definition that I like about your texture pack but with a smoothness to it.

Alrighty, we gave this pack a try on the server tonight and while I like it it seems a bit too much over the top in your face. I have to say I love most of the crafted items I have seen (I would suggest for the glass that you look into supporting optifine's only border around the edges thingy). I also love the ores and what the trees look like. The fruit tree branches in winter I am attempting to get used to and am looking forward to seeing what they will look like year round. Overall though the pack seems to contrasting in everything except the ores is the best way I can put it. The stone especially.. I can tell you likely got quite a few images from geology.com/rocks and I want to pick on the Diorite as an example.. The image shown on that website roughly matches what you have done for the block texture. The thing that is getting me though is the resolution. The image on the website is of a piece of rock 5cm in size so the black flecks in it are about 1-2mm whereas the are pretty Huge in the texturepack. My overall suggestion is to tone down the contrast of things in the pack and make the textures a little less busy. I have to say that is what I really like about the ores. They are very simple but cleanly defined. There is no huge contrasting elements to them. Anywho, more feedback as I play with the pack more often. Included below are my house with the default textures and your textures just for comparison. I would say tone down the busyness of the wood panels for instance. The edging of the planks is good but the busyness in the planks seems a bit much.

Going to lock this.. A tree rework to make them more like the fruit trees is already down as something to be done Sooo.. Wish Granted! Also I would not be Too worried about growing times as the fruit trees are not that bad... not that bad

Good, then I do not have to hate on you and give you a à²_à²

No idea, BTW just made anchors that could be placed then rope attached to on one end.
-
I would like to see rope in general and from that things that can benefit from its use (actual rafts made of rope and logs would be neat). The ability to anchor a rope and climb up and down it.. I am not too sure about zipline simply because that is above and beyond the mechanics in the game already but it may not be that hard (I am very much a bang for your buck sort of person, especially when it comes to Java). As for bridges I would love them.. but if they are like the ones in the video posted then hell no Give me something with a bit of sway, not poorly implemented physics (The reactions you see in that video are what happen when you treat ropes and such like springs with too much stretchiniess but wrote the code in a manner where it reacts very poorly to very taught springs )

I gave up reading about half way through page three Summary: None of this is on topic, so bye bye topic.

Why does this seem backwards to me? Metal armor was curved to absorb blows from both blunt and slashing weapons (Lots of force but over a wide area) but it was weak to piercing (lots of force but focused area of effect).. Also, your metal pot is about 2-3 times thicker than plate armor.
-
As do I man. Please do not open your comments/follow up with a slant against the person you are going to respond to.. There is no need for that.
-
I think this would be a great time to bring back the hand holds thread that mentioned putting little hand/foot holds into stone surfaces to make them climbable
-
Its part right and part wrong. Ore generation in TFCraft is based on Better Ore Distribution from Macropolo. The really huge deposits can only happen at depth while across the surface you will get smaller deposits of mostly starter metals. At any depth they should always obey rock types and such however.. But some rocks now contain more ores than they did before, or should have
