      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

  1. [0.79.29] DarkAgeCraft Off Line

Minecraft user name: track394 Your Age: 17 Your Time Zone: Pacific Location Country and State: United States, California Tell us a bit about yourself: I like long walks down the beach prospecting for ore and minerals. How can you help us: I am a vagabond type who specializes in trading. However I also create abodes in several towns to establish myself and gather orders and what not.
  2. [Offline][0.79.13] New Whitelisted Server

IGN: track394 Age:17 Info: I am a vagabond trader and always enjoy making new friends. I also enjoy mining and selling my goods for a fair price.
  3. [Offline] Whitelisted Small Community Role-Play TFC Server

Full Name: John H Time-Zone: Pacific Skype: yes or no? Yes, but I prefer to meet people before I skype with them. Ingame Name: Track394 Age: 17 Experience with Minecraft: Played anilla since beta 1.7.3 Experience with TFC: I started 2 years ago when you could make tools out of tier zero metals. Why you wish to join: Casual play, I hope to come online randomly whenever friends or homework allow for it. More info- I love TFC because of its realism and added difficulty. I like the relative absence of whiny 10 year olds and griefers etc. My role is mostly a home builder and a vagabond who enjoys making friends and trading. I know my way around a forge and pickaxe when need be.
  4. An Aesthetic Use for Gems

What many of you have neglected is the fact that diamond is in fact used in many tools. I have never really heard of diamonds being used in picks, but I know that they can be crushed into a powder and then cast or beaten into saws or tools that might cut materials, similar to what Kazahied said earlier. I don't think it would be possible to grind diamonds in a grindstone because it is so hard, but maybe through the use of a higher tier grinder, it could be possible. The benefits of doing this should only be a greater increase in durability since the diamond is in too small a quantity to create any change in cutting speed. Also, diamond is so hard that it should only be used in at least steel level or higher tools or else the diamond dust just simply wouldn't hold in the weaker metals. Edit: I know that this isn't really an aesthetic use for diamonds, but it seems like a good way to use them either way.
  5. combat tips in the stone age for new players

My technique for surviving is to 'hole up for the night'. In other words, I create a small shelter using thatch and dirt. I found that if you collect 72 straw using a knife and 11 dirt + or - sticks and wood for a fire, you can create a very nooby but effective shelter. Also, if you gather enough stones and sticks, you can preoccupy yourself with making tools and torches for long enough to pass up most of the night. Another thing I might add is that by having an open shelter you can run to, you will have a 'rabbit hole' in which you can hide in the case of a skeleton attack, using the open windows and murder holes to your advantage. Lastly, I would like to point out that certain rocks do different amounts of damage and have different durabilities depending on which one you use. For example, throughout my adventures, I discovered that andesite is inferior to gabrro in durability but equal in damage. Check the wiki for more info on this.
  6. Prospector's pick : How to use at it's best.

I use the box technique whenever I search for surface veins, but when I deep mine, I have to use a branch/tunnel technique where I simply dig a HUGE tunnel and run along spamming the pro-pick until I can guesstimate the near center/direction of the desired vein. Although this technique requires a ton of metal tools, it doesn't really bother me since I am swimming in lower level metals at that point. I might use the box method if I have a general idea of where the ore is (and other clusters) and so I could more accurately locate the largest quantity of said ore using that technique.
  7. Surface prospecting with prospector's pick

I really liked this technique too, it makes a good way to get your foot in the door, in metallurgical terms.
  8. Crashing on startup

I have had this problem too. I noticed that it only really happens when I start my world in a dense jungle or Sequoia forest, sometimes I can get it to work, other times I can't. Eventually I just gave up and created a new world, but try to avoid dense jungles of Sequoia Forests.
  9. Username: track394 Age: 17 Location: Bakersfield, CA Why do you like to play TFC?: Presents a brand new challenge to minecraft that I have always enjoyed. Why do you want to join?: Volhiem recommended this server and I have always wanted to join others in my Terrafirma ventures. What will you add to the server?: Trade opportunities and mining opportunities, I wish to trade minerals in return for supplies. Note: I have been banned once before on a vanilla minecraft server because I attacked an admin who teleported to my base and stole my stuff, not for hacking.
