      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

  1. New Temp System

The cooking/smelting system is currently completely fuckep up. Next update should fix it. For now, save your meat.
  2. Very Bad TerraFirma Texture Glitch

What you should do is manually putting the contents of the resources inside their due folder. When simply dragging and dropping the folders themselves inside minecraft.jar, what Macs do is overwrite the entire folder with the new one instead of simply merging them. It's stupid, and it should be fixed. But until then, that's how we have to do it
  3. Very Bad TerraFirma Texture Glitch

Do you use a Mac? Looks like the standard textures were deleted, but the mods textures haven't. That's a pretty common problem when manually installing such mods on Macs.
  4. B44 and flux.

Actually that's just because the wiki is outdated. Just use some limestone or any other of those stones' rock instead. That'll do the trick! Tried it myself, worked,
  5. Having Problems Installing Beta 2 Build 44 On A Mac

The problem with manually installing mods for minecraft on macs is that some of them includes files that go inside folders that already exist on the raw minecraft.jar. Now, the Mac, different from Windows, overwrites these folders upon drag-and-drop. The way to go around that problem is by manually placing the required classes inside the folders that are inside the minecraft.jar. Luckily, there are only a few folders you have to do that with. 1 or 2 in the TFC_Resources zip and only 1, the "net" folder, in the TFCraft-Client-Core zip. Now that's what I'm assuming is your problem. If you already knew that, just ignore what I said.
  6. Prospecting pick don't know what he says or what?!

The closer you are from the surface, the smaller are the veins you'll find. That means that when you do find one, the ore itself will be scattered in small groups next to each other. From what it seems, the propick sees that as different veins, which might explain why it keeps showing apparent random results.
  7. Texture

Have you installed TFC_Resources? EDIT: What he just said above. I imagine it's possible some people might forget to install it.
  8. Making support beams with the saw

By efficiently I meant that using either produces 8 units of support beam, but I see your point
  9. Dirt Roads

If you guys apply gravity to everything you'll make me watch my awesome treehouse fall into pieces! (why is there no crying emoticon?)
  10. No need to be mean with Macs hehe Actually what valkup said makes total sense. I've read about some people having trouble while trying to install both TFC, which used only forge, and other mods that use modloader, and the main problem seems to be modloader itself. If forge really does have it built in, then your other mods (if you plan to use any other) might work just fine with only forge installed!
  11. Support Beams, Prospecting Pick and Digging Up

That's actually one of the most dangerous parts of mining. I've had several cave-ins during my playtime, and ALL of them happened because I was digging either up or down. Most recently, I found a huge vein of limonite on a cave, but it was somewhat below me. While digging the stairs down, I had a cave in which basically ruined all of the ore on the ceiling (good thing there's a lot more on the ground and walls )
  12. Making support beams with the saw

Well, in my mind being able to make support beams with either makes sense, but I don't see why you'd want to waste your valuable metal with something you can do just as efficiently with a normal stone axe.
  13. Is there a difference in stone tools?

They do seem to have tiny differences in durability. Almost too tiny to be noticed, but they're there anyway.
  14. HELP

This wiki article should help you enough so you can continue by yourself
  15. Propick, how do you WORK?

The thing about this mod is that sometimes you have to venture father away from your base, camp, house, etc, to find the superficial ores that you want. Take me for example, while mining down right beside my camp, I only found bismuth after digging from 145 to 60, finding a gigantic cave, exploring it's giganticness until I finally found a lifetime stock of that ore. Then I decided to go look for different ores. At first I read on the wiki on what kind of rocks you can find zinc, then on what biomes can you find that ore superficially. I Explored a little bit, quite far away from my camp (x=50 y=0), and found some decent amount of zinc at a very very superficial level at x=300 y=250. You just have to learn to look, and learning takes some time. I've been playing this mod for maybe 5, 6 days now.
