      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

      There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
      If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
      I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

  1. Disillusioned with TFCraft

    uum as you say you use the sluice you are in any 47 build. Honestly in 47 you barley can miss ores the distribution is way better in 47 then it was in any prior build. i just did a quick test with 10 spawns and a straight dig of 500 coords in every direction of my spawn and each time i found at least 3 deposits of ore without even propicking so you are either totally unlucky or you are overusing your words.
  2. Thoughts on B47 ?

    My quick 2 cents worth on b47 is: " AWESOME ". B47 did so much right that it got be caught back in! It still has its quirks and bits but in general the whole look and feel of the mod goes in the absolute right direction. Altho the entry seems a bit harder to me its more belivable ( " as in it feels realistic " ) and hard work pays off!

    I think no one has problems with the tiers itsself and way more so with the fact that getting there is just a matter of luck and randomness but that might be my personal and biased view.

    Well thats what current Version reality is, and i fully agree at its current stage getting ore is pure randomness. Besides even with you hitting an ore its so dilluted due to the fact that the propicks range is way to big for its own good. I put TFC on halt because of this too. Hoping it somehow gets fixed but to what i know bioxx is allergic against any suggestions on how to replace the completly usless propick system so i guess im out of luck. Dont get me wrong i love this mod but when playing it its just too much of a hassle and with rock hardness beeing even more amped up using stone picks is more of a hassle. So those who hit luck with ores in already deployed worlds its fine but for everyone starting a new map its pure nightmare. I think its good to have ores beeing found hard but in my book the whole propick system needs to be replaced with a system that can be grindy and a chore but gives predictable results, which we are currently completly lacking. Its ok for stuff to be hard but dishing out hours and hours on and without even knowing that it nets you any result is completly off the chart in terms of risk vs reward and time vs reward. You dish out many hours on time if you dont get lucky and permanently risk caveins or have to have a going woodfarm ( which you dont have on a new map ) but the output result simply dont justify it by any economical means.

    No it will not be easier to detect ores the bigger the radius the more readings you get that interfere with each other! Without the possibility to triangualte you would be randomly digging which cant for sure be wanted to be design so there is not kindness in including it. Without any mechanic like the propick no one would bother mining ores with the current distribution rules, and the change as it happend now simply makes any type of triangulation totally off in terms of cost v.s reward.

    Well it was mostly because of guys like me who ignored the mechanic and as soon as they found any reading they excavated the Area. Stupid thing now is now that ore aqquiring is completly out of buisness the whole mod crumles into uslessness for me. It was hard but bearable and enjoyable before but now its outright usless. Altho it was forseeable to happen as with current propick mechanics most people simply prefer grinding over using the actual mechanic cause it netted results faster and far more reliable.
