      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

  1. Having difficulty getting the bronze ratio correct

completely awesome dude. Wish I could code like that.
  2. learning to mod 1.6.4

ok, thanks man. I'll learn about github and keep plugging on.
  3. learning to mod 1.6.4

thanks for the link but what is it? I'm very new to this. Is this where you can see TFC code?
  4. learning to mod 1.6.4

How do you get your hands on TFC code? It would be great to learn by looking at other people's work.
  5. learning to mod 1.6.4

I know this thread already exists but I thought I'd revitalize it since 78 has now been released. I'm finishing a course on Java and now I want to learn how to mod so I can (eventually) make addons for TFC. What tutorials would you recommend? I think the scratch for fun ones are really good but he goes over most of the really basic stuff in the 1.6.2 tutorials. Can you use 1.6.2 modding tutorials to code in 1.6.4? I worried I'll follow exactly what he says but repeatedly run into errors due to code differences.
  6. Compiling Forge 965

sorry. false alarm. the problem was my brain.
  7. Compiling Forge 965

...sorry guys but even though making these changes allowed me to finish installing forge, when I opened eclipse the client and server files have a big red exclamation mark and 22 error messages at the bottom. I put the forge folder in with the other folders from mcp811. What have I done wrong? Really keen to start modding.
  8. Compiling Forge 965

Thanks so much man I think this is the only fix for this problem on the internet right now.
  9. Having difficulty getting the bronze ratio correct

wow you can do that with the crucible? I didn't even know. Still in the very early bronze age. Hey TomatoThief I like your approach. I just spent a bit of time trying to work out all the possibilities for different ore combinations that would have the highest possible ingots with no waste. Assuming that you just stick to one quality of copper in each combination (i.e., you don't have one poor copper and another rich) there are 27 different possibilities. I was about to sit down and work them all out (that's kind of nerd I am) but when I hit the first possibility (poor tetrahedrate, poor zinc, and poor bismuth) I discovered that there are four different ways to combine the poor quality ores so they fit perfectly into 300 and stay true to their percentage requirements. Then I thought 'holy crap man, there could be 108 different valid combinations!!!' and stopped. I think it's kind of cool that we have to actually think about it before we combine ingredients and smelt as that's what our ancestors would have had to do. I'm just glad the game doesn't punish us when we mess up with a message like "you have produced a useless lump of crap. ha ha". Ores are hard to come by!!!
  10. Having difficulty getting the bronze ratio correct

thanks guys. I can't find cassiterite anywhere but following your suggestions I used ratio of 32 tetrahedrite (15 units each), 7 sphalerite (35 units each), and 5 bismuthinite (25 units each) and got bismuth bronze.
  11. Finding it really hard to get bronze. I try and follow the recommended ratios and nothing happens after it's been in the kiln. I can't work out if it's supposed to be by number of ore items or if you have to take their unit worth into consideration. I tried both approaches and they both failed. Please help
  12. [B78.15]Resources near spawn

I don't think there is anything called fluxstone. You can create flux using limestone, marble etc using a hammer. check out the wiki. http://wiki.terrafirmacraft.com/Flux
  13. [78.14] sheep seed

One of the most annoying things in the game is having to hide all night in a straw hut like a little pansy while zombies gnaw at your doorstep. No longer! This seed plants you right next to sheep. I know animals are not locked in place like trees etc. but the area must be so conducive to sheep that every time I've loaded this map, sheep have been right there. I know this is a spoiler but it's pretty hard to miss as you also spawn right next to about five copper (just head north/north-west a little bit). The grass area just north of the spawn location is rich in copper and zinc, a river and trees. Great place to play (even though there are no chickens). -1896312605 p.s. I don't know how to upload a screenshot. p.s.s. ha ha, I thought I try one more time just to be sure and there were not sheep (just a cow). It's worked about six times out of seven though so the odds are pretty damn good. Either way, the temperature, altitude and rain conditions are clearly perfect for sheep spawnage.
  14. quasi chicken 'seed'

.....I just found an actual seed: -7664841063981211771 The exact area you spawn is a chicken area. yes... I like chickens
  15. quasi chicken 'seed'

I went on an epic quest across the ocean to find chickens... only to discover that the distance of the ocean was equivalent to the Atlantic and I died of thirst in the endless blue.... So I tried to find a seed that would start me closer to chickens and this is the best I could come up with: Start with this seed: -733111584353527055 This is actually quite a nice place. Lots of trees and salt rock... but this is not a place for chickens! It's something like 5 degrees which is way too cold for little chickens. So, now that you're here, press 't' and little dialogue box at the bottom will come up. type in /tp 9095 149 315 This will take you to a dense jungle where lots of chickens roam. Enjoy! p.s. you will need to enable cheats for this to work. you can do this either at the start when you create the game or in the open to LAN option in the pause menu.
