      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

  1. [Offline] Small Self-hosted Server

Excuse me, the server has gone offline for a few hours, would you be so kind as to restart it?
  2. To my old RaiserCraft buddies.

Well Judging by their profiles, Kizyx was last on about a month ago, and Watsaru hasn't been on the website since 2012. You could try to Pm them i suppose, unless you have any other method of contact.
  3. Question about food preservation and beyond

Out of curiosity, is there anything implemented or in the works similar to iceboxes? The technology needed for one is extremely minimal, i actually own a functional wooden icebox, they were one of the most common ways of preserving food once transportation such as cars became viable. However, carving ice and carrying it yourself seems plausible, that's how the Vanderbilt's did it at their mansion.
  4. To my old RaiserCraft buddies.

Heyo Heinrich, If i remember correctly we played on Raisercraft together. I actually am looking around for a server, and would be happy to join you in your escapades.
  5. Username: Sirbab Age: 20 Location: Ohio, USA Why do you like to play TFC? I happen to like to rustic feel, and balance that it provides. I play/have played a decent amount of the tech modpacks, and it just feels... strange, especially with so many mods cobbled together. Also there's the nice feeling of progression and challenge that it gives. Why do you want to join? I felt like getting back into TFC for a while, saw a server with a good presentation, up to date, and one of the biggest things; Pregenned map, exploring in tfc was such a pain in the rear for everyone on the server on previous TFC experiences i've had. What will you add to the server? Hmm, A community member for one, A neighbor, and probably some fairly decent abodes. Most likely i would join or settle a town. If i like what i see, i'll probably ask a few of my buddies to tag along. As well as having a better than basicknowledgeof how TFC works (at least versions from a few months ago).
  6. The OLD Roanoke Thread

Hullo there, i've been perusing around for a terrafirmacraft server to play on, and i was very curious as to how this one is coming along, If possible i'd also like to play. My in-game name is: Sirbab I'm somewhat of a TFC Vet, but please excuse my ignorance of the past few versions, it's been a while
  7. Who wants to do a group play?

I'd be interested in joining in on the fun.
  8. Is It Possible To Make Maps?

I'm fairly certain they don't exist yet in tfc, there's just so much parallel work to be done, it's low priority. I think the original reason it was postponed was due to an incoming Vanilla change. don't quote me on this though, i've been absent for a while now.
  9. Ore Availability: Am I Just Lucky?

Oh i happens, a fair bit depending on the location. I've found copper several times, as well as sphalerite, and cassiterite, Mostly in the sides of mountains/hills just exposed. But also, in the desert, there are lil' caverns that are filled with ore sometimes.
  10. Tomahawks as an upgrade to Javelins?

Well yes, the "Atlatl" was more or less a lever to launch spears at high speed.
  11. Tomahawks as an upgrade to Javelins?

I mispoke apparently, forgive me. I did not see that someone already mentioned the glory of the Atlatl.
  12. Easier way of making charcoal?

I remember a few months back, a fairly well thought out alternative, but it was the same principle, just heat in an oxygen low environment = Profit. It really is easy once you get your hands on a jungle, or sequoia forest. Sythes + willows are good for renewable Charcoal. I used to spew out about 400 coal every hour or so by my self. Of course, i did have a metal saw, and went on a slash and burn method, but still.
  13. Quality of Foods / GMO/ Organic etc.

Well said Rgamer Most people fail to realize that most of our current plants/crops didn't exist (at all/in this state) for example, corn used to be the size of one's thumb, and about as palatable. some fruits have only existed for neigh 30 years. Just sayin' to the nay sayers
  14. [Offline] Terra - [RPPvP] [Factions] [Democratic Rules]

Oh my, you boys seem to be having quite the issues lol.
  15. Direct use of all metals for tools etc

Well, what i learned, and found again on wikipedia, is this - According to an article Fahrenheit wrote in 1724, he based his scale on three reference points of temperature.[4] In his initial scale (which is not the final Fahrenheit scale), the zero point is determined by placing the thermometer in brine: he used a mixture of ice, water, and ammonium chloride, a salt, at a 1:1:1 ratio. This is a frigorific mixture which stabilizes its temperature automatically: that stable temperature was defined as 0 °F (−17.78 °C). The second point, at 32 degrees, was a mixture of ice and water without the ammonium chloride at a 1:1 ratio. The third point, 96 degrees, was approximately the human body temperature, then called "blood-heat"
