      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

  1. [TFC 0.79.29.922] Teagan's Guide to: Terrafirmacraft

I have found this pack to be really helpful and getting me back into Terrafirmacraft. I can't believe how much I have forgotten. I wish on the coal quest there was a little bit more of a hint on where to find it. I thought I saw some close to spawn, but I forgot to mark it, I had to search the world for some and finally found it on a stone formation far from home. Is there a way to cut grain smaller to make the whiskey? I have like 90 and I wanted to cut it down to the 40, but I can't figure it out. It used to be cut with a knife into smaller pieces, but with the latest Terrafirmacraft all the knife does now is cut decay out. Edit: Never mind, I see a quest now that helps divide foods precisely. Now to get piggy iron...LOL. I did have to use the edit quest book command for the whiskey barrel. I had a barrel of whiskey and no matter how I had the barrel, the alcohol quest would not complete. I had it in my inventory, placed it on my back and for some strange reason, the quest book wouldn't recognize it. I also had the douglas wood barrel on my back, and in my inventory and it still wouldn't recognize it.
  2. Thanks. There used to be a simple one, but it was for 1.6.4 and I cannot remember who developed it and if it had been updated. I would just prefer the easiest one myself. Don't like the extra mobs or catacombs etc. Just a plain old gravestone to hold my goodies until clumsy and slow me, finds my death point.
  3. I think this pack is great. No issues with installing or playing it. Any chance of adding a gravestone mod to it? Is it possible to add one? I tend to die alot and it would be nice not to lose my inventory because I cannot return in time to it.
  4. Invisible pigs and broken chickens

Unfortunately I don't know how to correct the date, and if I did, I would be afraid it might mess up things more than fix. Crops might disappeared etc, might starve to death cause of being a year in the future etc.....When the world gets to the next year, (currently in July of the second year), and it fails to advance again, we might consider the world lost and play with finding and trying to correct the date. Sorry I couldn't help.
  5. Invisible pigs and broken chickens

I have a world that my nephew uses that has done this. He is in summer of his second year and it is saying it is the year 1000. My other worlds are correct with the year. Not sure why one world would do this and the other worlds be correct.
  6. It takes approx 4 months for the pups to be born. Mine was pregnant in October, and around February she had her pups. I was on a mining expedition and the pups teleported to me on my way into my home area. Mine had a litter of 5, and they were born tame.
  7. [TFC 0.78.9] ExtraFirma Addon v1.0.4

Thanks the dough in the trap worked great...Catching fish on a regular basis now . As to the temperature, Ice had surrounded my trap and I still had fishes in it. It was also on just submerged that I could see the wood top on the surface of the lake and it worked. I will experiment with depths later once spring comes and my lake thaws a bit. Maybe deeper might affect amount of fish....not sure at this point. Totally loving this fish trap though. Thanks for the help! I would have never thought of dough as bait.
  8. [TFC 0.78.9] ExtraFirma Addon v1.0.4

Really liking this add on. I like to suggest that bismuth bronze be added for the lanterns. I think that would be a good look for the lanterns. How does the fish trap work? I can make one, but I don't understand how they are suppose to work. I put cooked salted beef in it, but unsure what I need to bait it with and where to put it (salt vs fresh and deep vs shallow water), and does weather (cold weather) affect it's function?
  9. TerraFirmaCraft - Full Mod Let's Play

Love your series. Looking forward to the next episode. I am currently trying to make a pickaxe on the anvil.....is there anyway you could do one on the series so I can see it? I keep getting close, in fact I line up the green and red arrow as well as the hits require being green.....but it never makes the tool. I can weld but I can't seem to make tools. Maybe if I can see it being done, I will see what I am doing wrong.
  10. [TFC 0.78.9] ExtraFirma Addon v1.0.4

Thanks Kitty. I thought that was it, but just couldn't find any documentation on it. There are still a few mod authors that tend to follow the beat of their own drum still. And I took a peek inside the jar, and I didn't see documentation of installation instructions either. I have installed now without problems. Thanks again! Really enjoying TFC and now this will add to it.
  11. Charcoal pit

Yes, I fill in everything and fill in the spaces above the firepit towards the last of filling in the room. I have a ladder on the side of the building and I get on top. I followed the stone building structure as I saw on the wikki. I fill in every available space first, except directly above the fire pit and the bottom log pile in front of the firepit nearest the door. ( I use thatch to hold places as I need to fill in all difficult areas then remove the thatch as I fill in those spaces. It is all filled. Once everything is filled....I climb my building, open up the area above the firepit....make sure the firepit has logs, then fill in the spaces above the firepit (two log piles (placing these piles can be difficult but can be done., then the stone is replaced...I jump down....light the firepit, place the last log pile in front of the firepit and run out the door and shut it. There is no open air spaces. I have done it this way all the time. I just get inconsistent results with the conversion and leaving log piles behind And the one time, it spontaneously combusted, and I didn't even have half of the log piles in place yet. There was no log piles on top of the firepit yet. I was turned away from the fire pit as I was placing logs in the corner of the building ......and I started taking damage and realized I was on fire. I ran out, and into the lake, and of course I lost all the wood I had placed. Placing the log piles on top of the firepit is one of the last things I do. In total I use 26 log piles +4 logs for the firepit. Total of 420 logs. I usually get around 2 stacks of charcoal. Sometimes a little more, sometimes a little less, I guess my point is at this time getting charcoal tends to be inconsistent and full of danger. (I really got my tail feathers burnt and lost some wood, and still don't know how it ignited as I play single player).
  12. Charcoal pit

I built a 5x5x4 high stone brick structure to use for charcoal pit. Boy did I have fun with it......First time I used it, it worked just fine with the fire pit in front of the door.....Second and third time, the logs nearest the ceiling did not convert(fire pit still in front of the door and all other air spaces filled. (I filled the top areas, by climbing on top of it and opening up the top....filling it up and then reclosing it....the most ***cough, cough*** hilarious time I had trying to make this pit, was the time the pit was empty...so I started the campfire in the middle of the room without any wood in it to keep it burning. I left the building (there was no log piles in the building at the time) to go cut some trees....I was gone about 10mins and I went into the building to start placing log piles....I had placed about 6 log piles(stacks)...nothing unusual, Left the building to collect more wood. Came back with some more wood, nothing was amiss when I went into the building...campfire was out...no logs in it or on top of it yet, so I went about my business stacking more wood and suddenly I was on fire??? Ran out of the building and realized that all the wood piles were going up. So how did the campfire re-ignite? I wasn't carrying a flint or steel or firestarter. Anyways, I came to the conclusion that a firepit in the middle of the room gives the best results. I fill everything up except the log pile in front of the door. I add wood to the campfire ring, Light it, and then quickly fill in the pile in front of the door, that I had left open to light the campfire. This works the best for complete burning of the wood to charcoal. The firepit in front of the door is more convenient, but I always get inconsistent results.
  13. [TFC 0.78.9] ExtraFirma Addon v1.0.4

I have been searching, but I can't find the instructions on how to install this. Please how do I install this? Do I just copy the downloaded jar into the mod folder?
  14. TerraFirmaCraft with Dunk

Very helpful. I have watched them all so far.
  15. Creating Food Prep area

Ah, thank you! That really helps. I appreciate your help. . Now I am off to experiment with the chisel and making my kitchen.
  16. Creating Food Prep area

I have been trying to create a food prep table and so far I have been unable to do it. I tried searching the wiki, and I get making meals with food prep area, but not how to create a food prep table. I have tried both natural stone and cobblestone and right clicking a stone knife onto it, also shift +rt clicking a knife on it, but unable to create a table. How do I make one?
  17. Creating Food Prep area

Ah, thanks. I still can't find that particular line on the wiki page, but that was the answer. I guess I was expecting the knife to be left on the surface for the food prep surface when I made it and then for the gui to open when I made bowls to make the meals. Maybe a specific paragraph on that page for idiot people like me describing how to make the food prep surface specifically? . I have been trying to figure that out for days and kept somehow missing the bowls needing to be in the inventory. Also a dumb question, but can smooth stone that has been chiseled work as a food prep surface? I really appreciate the quick response and answer. I have been researching my questions here and on the wikki since I started playing TFC and have found my answers so far, but this one really eluded me. I really love the mod and this site and wiki. Edit: Ugg, I finally found that line. I looked over it 100 times and kept missing it.
