@Adventurer Not bad. Required config edits are few so far. Greg may be adjusting how the partial-ingot ores are processed in his next update, but we'll see. (right now the rich ores are counted the same as the 2-ingot ores, which then macerate to 4 ingots, so it's a little off).

I hope you made backups at each stage above of anything you need to preserve. TFC seems mostly to be designed as a stand-alone mod, not completely unlike Better Than Wolves. TFC worldgen is *vastly* different from vanilla, even changing sea level by about double the y value and preventing all vanilla ores (and many mod ores) from generating. In general, it stands to be far more compatible with other mods than BTWfor a variety of reasons. That said, all attempts at combining TFC should be considered extremely experimental, and tested by adding each mod one at a time. After a single mod doesn't crash, you'll need to verify playability by looking at recipes, availability of items, and whether the Nether is required. You mention a survival world in the OP; are you saying you played a world but later applied TFC? Are you saying you played for a bit in TFC, got the crash, then duplicated the crash in a test world? Also, you mentioned world edit; did you get the same crash without bukkit? Bukkit and TFC don't always play nicely.

I mentioned it in the thread I started a few days ago, but with Gregtech, this graphical duplication becomes an actual duplication, seriously compromising TFC's early game.

TFC Build 79.7, recommended Forge. Every time I break or right-click debris in vanilla TFC I see two sticks/small ores/rocks drop. Picking them up results in only acquiring one of them, and the false item disappears. The duplication is only visual in this case. - Definitely buggy, but mostly just annoying. However, when I do the same thing with IC2, Gregtech, CCC, and NEI installed, the duplication is not visual, it actually happens, and I pick up two of the sticks/small ores/rocks. - Definitely buggy, and seriously compounded by doubling pick-up rate and availability of your first copper ores. This did not happen in 79.6 with what had been the latest forge (two versions later than the recommended version). Edit: Tested with all mods mentioned above except GT. GT is the mod that makes the dupe more than just visual.

I think there should be a random chance for the torch to turn into a burnt-out stump that doesn't relight anymore for additional believability.

Minetweaker will probably solve 1 and 3. http://pastebin.com/rGpGzb7B will solve 2 and 4. Otherwise, oredicting varies at several pointstools (craftingToolSaw)tool heads (toolHeadSwordPlatinum yes, it has low durability)It may make sense to have these oredicted with yours, except that the heads do still need to craft into different tools. I think removing Greg's manual tool crafting and leaving it with only his assembly machine crafting recipe will keep production of his tools limited to high-tech times, and always allow production of TFC tools when the player has reached the proper metalworking stage long before an assembly machine.Railcraft also uses poor ores:Railcraft -> orePoorCopperRailcraft -> orePoorGoldRailcraft -> orePoorIronRailcraft -> orePoorTinRailcraft -> orePoorLeadEach smelts to a nugget of metal. It's WIP, I know. Here are my initial observations: The way that TFC is currently oredicting some things causes cross-mod inequities, or sometimes just doesn't enhance compatibility much. Ore of the standard (.25 ingot) quality, appears to be oredicted the same as a vanilla ore block. Other mods' processing turns the single .25 ingot item into 2 or more ingots' worth of metal. The IC2 macerator is a prime example.I saw that Tetrahedrite, Native Copper, and Malachite are all oreCopper, with similarly simplified entries for Iron. This might cause confusion when a mod would normally handle Tetrahedrite or Galena differently than their native-metal counterparts (for processing byproducts, or for using magnetite for its magnetic properties rather than just metal content)I suggest some method of crafting the smaller ore items into larger ore items that represent a full ingot's worth of material (4x .25 quality items, 3x .35 quality items, etc.) for enhanced compatibility, as processing low-quantity byproducts from large quantities of a material is important for some mods. An example would be gold ore items into a vanilla gold ore block or IC2's Crushed Gold Ore.TFC two-ingot metal sheets might go well as plateCopper, plateIron, etc. for cross-mod compatibility, and requiring two ingots per plate to craft a machine casing early on is already in line with the idea that material efficiency increases as technology/skill increases.

I ran up to my forge-on-the hill to make some ingot casts with the 2.5 stacks of clay I had just dug up. While still in the air from my last sprint-jump(y=159.62), I right-clicked to mold the clay. The game crashed. I did test again, though, and clay molding while jumping doesn't normally crash, so perhaps that part is coincidence. I'm running only TFC 78.17 + Forge 965.
