      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

  1. So I have finally managed to find an ore vein in my world, I cannot see it even thou I know its there. I am mining for sphalerite; as I destroy a plain stone I receive an ore (thats how I know it, I also know that they are grouped). Is this normal, have I missed some important update to the game? Please tell me, thank you.
  2. Yes i want to cheat my way to a easy-to-get supply of ores. Is there a mod/ texture pack that turns all types of stones into glass? Or anithing transparent that may allow me to see where the ore clusters can be found. I realised this is a bit difficult since the original minecraft layout is set to show a block , only if it's exposed on atleast one side. I checked X-Ray mod and tried to delete the stone textures, doesn't do anithing for my problem. My explaining why i want this: I love tfc very much but i really, really, really (really*infinity) hate wasting my time and metals on prospecting for ores. This is one part of tfc i can do without. That's because my general goals in tfc are building, agriculture and exploring (nature and posibilities). If anyone is so kinde as to give me a link or advice as to how to do it , i would be greatly thanckful
  3. Bloomery trouble

I've been making a bloomery on TFC Beta Build 69 For MC v1.4.5 and it's not working. I've used both kinds of design and I tossed the ore and charcoal in and nothing happens. Here's what it looks like: http://s1273.beta.ph...html?sort=3&o=1 (just click arrows to find other pictures)
  4. I encountered the following issue twice yesterday. I was able to reproduce it at will. Bug Description: When handling liquid metal in the firepit, overflow to a second empty mold does not work if the current target mold is in the righthand output slot. Reproduction Steps: - Smelt ore in the firepit. Two empty ceramic molds are placed in the output slots to receive the metal. - Molten metal is first placed into the left of the two empty molds. - After smelting enough ore, the left mold fills up and any excess overflows into the right mold. Working as intended. - Remove filled mold from the left slot, insert new empty mold into the left slot. - Continue smelting ore. - Molten metal is placed into the right of the two molds, because it already has something in it. - After smelting enough ore, the right mold fills up but any excess does not overflow into the left mold and is instead lost. This is the bug. This might not seem very dire, but it is fairly annoying because you cannot insert half-filled molds into the output slots even if the metal is liquid. This means that as soon as you get overflow into the righthand mold, you need to remove both molds, and because you cannot insert the partially filled righthand mold into the left output slot, you need to cook it so it empties its few drops of metal into a new empty mold you hopefully placed into the lefthand slot before you can proceed. The issue is especially noticable if you try combine many partially filled molds after parallel-smelting in multiple campfires; I lost half an ingot's worth of the very first metal I ever found from combining two three-quarters filled molds in this way.
  5. Surface Nuggets

Strange that searching for a similar topic doesn't come up on anything like what i'm going to discuss.. Everyone that has played a while TFC knows that on the surface are scattered around ores in form of small nuggets, but for my experience i've only found bismuthinite, cassiterite, sphalerite and copper in those rocks.. what i'm aking myself since few days ago is: are they the only ores i can found on the surface?? i mean, i know that every mineral smeltable into metal is available both as medium and small nugget, but i can't find small gold nugget or small galena nuggets, has it something to do with the possible fact that ores which are not in tier 0 or 1 are found deeper from the surface?
  6. The TFC Wiki and Minerals/Ores

Hello there Terrafirmians! If you don't know me I'm one of the active wiki editors and I would like your help. Currently I feel that the knowledge base on where to find ores and minerals are a bit thin on the wiki, so... I would like it if you all could tell me where to find them. What I need from you is this: Screen-shot taken without a texture-pack displaying said ore/mineral against the rocklayer it is found in. (You don't need to post the screen-shot here, just provide a link to it and I'll consider that in the same light, just add the link to your post)Name of mineral/ore, just to clear up any confusion on what you have found.Use the latest build of TFC, never post any ore info here if you havn't used the latest build of the mod. And, please, spread the word so that we can identify the locations of all minerals and ores and compile them into a useful knowledge-base on the wiki for all terrafirmians to use.
  7. Hi, because i'm still not able to find any stone for a forge, i tried to make glas for my home. I made a fire pit in the center of 3x3 section. I put in some logs and now... temperature stuck on drak red**** I'm running the pit for quite a time now and still stuck.. is it possible to make glas in a fire pit? In the wiki, it should be possible. Do i need some special wood or other ingrediences? My second question is, how does ore veins look like? All the ore i've corrently got is from little stone bricks on the ground... it would be nice to know for what should i look for.
  8. Ore Tiers

I was just wondering if anybody had a more or less complete list of the ore tiers/progression..? After finally getting all tin tools, I know I need to get enough copper to make an anvil.. But what comes after that? What's the next goal?
  9. OreVSCharcoal

So I've started smelting, I've got 81kg of Ore and 49KG of Charcoal, it doesn't melt, so what should I do? D: Can't use the Bloomery anymore.
