      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

  1. Display animal traits

Every so often I'm far from home, go "I need food", then slaughter an animal. Sometimes "far from home" is "half a day." Sometimes the animal drops 36 pounds of pork despite being only slightly larger than the sow sitting next to it. I'd like to avoid this, for obvious reasons. Showing animal size, traits etc when sneaking-next to their Familiarity indicator-would be a good way of going about this. It could be tied into the Butchery skill, displaying "Size: Small/Smaller/Medium/Larger/Large", "Weight: Light/Average/Heavy", etc.
  2. [Can't Reproduce] Breeding Wolves

Have you read, understood, and followed all of the rules listed in large text at the top of the support forum? (Yes/No): Yes TFC Version #: 0.79.25.845 Forge Version #: 10.13.4.1481 Please note that an actual number must be provided for both of the above fields. Simply saying "current" or "latest" will result in your post being locked, due to the fact that in a large number of cases, users who say they are using the "latest" or "current" version are actually using an outdated version. SSP/SMP (SinglePlayer/MultiPlayer): SSP Have you deleted your config files or are using default configs and are still able to reproduce this bug? (Yes/No): Yes If you answered no to the above question, delete all 3 TFC config files (TFCCrafting, TFCConfig, TFCOre), do NOT edit or add to any of the files, and try to reproduce the bug. This question is here because many bugs are caused by mistakes in config files. If you are unable to delete your edited config files, please provide a list of the config options you have changed. Do you have any mods other than Forge and TFC installed? (Yes/No): Yes If yes, which mods? NEI, Fastcraft, Rei's minimap, CodeChickenCore, TFCNEIplugin, Addons for TFC: animal crate, Udary, Cellars If you have Optifine or Cauldron installed, can you still reproduce the bug after uninstalling them? (Yes/No): I do not have any of those installed. If you answered no to the above question, uninstall Optifine/Cauldron and try to reproduce the bug. Both Optifine and Cauldron edit the base classes of forge that TFC uses. Because of this, we cannot officially support any issues that happen only when these mods are installed. In the majority of cases, TFC is not causing the bug; Optifine/Cauldron is and TFC can do nothing to fix it. All bug reports should have an answer of "Yes" to this question. If you refuse to uninstall Optifine/Cauldron, and cannot reproduce the bug when the mods are not installed, do not bother making a bug report, as it will be locked and ignored. Pastebin.com link of the Crash Report: There is no crash. Description: I tried breeding my 2 fully familiarized wolves. They were the offspring of 2 wild wolves which I bred in the previous version - 79.24. Those first two, I had no problem with. However, when I tried breeding the 2 fully familiarized ones in the latest version - 79.25, a baby wolf spawned immediately. I haven't checked its familiarity, but the female was showing pregnant so I just killed the little guy.. I tried the same thing on creative, but this time it just happened as it should I suppose: no baby wolf spawning right away and the female was pregnant. I'll try breeding some of my other animals, but they are too young now. Could it be a 1 time thing? Maybe because of the update? Regards.

  4. I have cows, sheeps and horses I want to breed, but the fully tamed ones (with the golden heart) don't eat the grains I want to feed them. it still works for the ones that aren't fully tamed (red heart with white borders) and one odd fully tamed male. Yes the animals are adult, I can milk the female cows, shear the sheeps and ride the horses. I tried feeding them barley, corn, wheat and oat. Can someone help me? Am I doing something wrong?
  5. In the changelog, animal gestation times are listed in months. Are they processed as in-game months or as in-game days (or some other way)? For example, if the year is set twice as long and I breed a cow, is it: Still pregnant for 9 (twice-as-long) months (which would be twice as many days as default), or Pregnant for 4.5 (twice-as-long) months (which would be the same number of days as default)?
  6. Yet more problems with animals

I know this subject has been talked about before but I seem to have another problem now. Ive gotten my sheep up to shearing level but Im now not able to feed them anymore, including for breeding. this has only happened with animals which I am trying to tame. Wild animals will I'll answer the obvious questions now. yes, I am shift right clicking and its been a few days since I last tryed to feed them. Currently my only though is that the animals are fully tamed and will take no more grain. Although if that is true why can I not breed them? Your assistance is welcome.
  7. B79.6 Pigs do not breed or have a gender

I'm feeding my pigs grain until they will no longer eat. They have no interest in making sweet love to each other. Right clicking on them does not display a gender, my single sheep is also 'genderless.' Though they do display physical traits of said gender (Male pig has tusks. Male sheep i have found have Horns, etc.) I will update if i find any other animals that have these issues. Please let me know if you would like to know anything else.
  8. Animalsplosion

I've seen these two issues all throughout Build 76's various hotfixes, in SMP. I never found the necessary wheat to start animal breeding in any of my SSP worlds. I've seen them happen with all four breedable animals. My fellow players have seen the same as me. 1.) Sometimes, when a pregnant animal gives birth, it will not spawn 1 offspring, but rather 4-8 at once. It's kind of odd when you have a pen with three pigs, two of them pregnanet females, and you come home one day to discover that boom, you now have 15-20 pigs. However, this is not guaranteed to happen; I've also seen a good number of singular births. Now, one of these two cases is probably intended, but which is it? And, why is the other case happening? 2.) Baby animals are extremely glitchy, no matter whether it's one or a dozen. For the entire time they grow up (rightclicking them shows a negative number ticking towards 0, which denotes an adult), the animal will show as running in place, and rapidly flickering back and forth between its actual size and its future adult size. It looks really bad. When I came how to discover my pigsplosion mentioned above, I couldn't bear having the camera pointed at the pen. Now I know you're no longer fixing B76, but please take a look at this in your B77 branch.
  9. [B64] Animal breeding

So, I've done some testing in regards of animal breeding both on b60 and b64. First of, animal AI doesn't show any interest in grains except for wheet grain, although they can be bred with any grain type. This might be intentional. Second, animals seem to spawn already mature, skipping child state completely. Spawning happens after a year after breeding done, not half a year as intended. Third, which emerges from second issue, animals always spawn hungry and immediately begin to starve. This can be solved by itself, however. I don't know if it has something to do with my testing scheme (I add slightly less than a half of a year to the time using chat commands. That way birth happens "naturally".), but since animals always spawn after a year, I doubt it. Fourth, animals sometimes spawn in ground or any blocks underneath the parent. If parent was in water (both vanilla and finite) while giving birth, chance for animals to get spawned in blocks seems to be lowered, but still not eliminated. Animals in blocks are not visible and seems to be invincible for attacks, although they still can starve. Bugged animals can eat grass and stop starve. They also can appear to become "ghost animals" as showed on pictures: "Ghosts" don't appear to have a hitbox, so they can't be killed by player attacks. I didn't test natural hazards. "Ghosts" can starve. Above-listed is not only bad for your household, but can be very annoying as you can't kill starving ghosts and bound to be haunted by their outcries until they they decide to leave.
