      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

  1. The purpose of this thread is to keep an updated log of topics covered in the suggestion pages, to help people find topics, andhelp keep information together. There is already one by Kittychanley but it hasn't been updated in some time. To find something, go to the category and expand the spoiler. The categories will be in alphabetical order and some may have sub categories. Some topics may find themselves under more than one category which is fine while others may not be included due to it falling under another topic. Topics will be evaluated by content on first page. It can be hard to know if your idea is close enough to a topic to be added to that idea. When indoubt skim closely related topics to see if it would fit in with the flow and then decide. If it fits into multiple categories your idea may need refining. A new topic should have no less than around 200 words. If you can explain it in less than there's probably already a topic it could fall under. If you can't find your topic using this directory then do a search by going to the suggestions directory, navigate to the top right of the page and select "This Forum".As always thank you for being polite and follow the rules outlined in this forum. 3. Help, can't find any veins/ores

First, Good morning. I was playing with a friend and as soon as we made our first pickaxe and prospector's pick, I intended to go mining. The problem is, I can't find ore. anywhere. I tried smashing rocks on the surface, I got like 4 stacks and nothing, tried mining when prospector's pick found something, and I've found nothing. It's really getting annoying and redudant, We can't do anything without ores...
  4. Ores of the Ocean

Lots of ores in real life are found underwater, so this would add more variance and purposes to ocean biomes. It would also make ores harder to get, and may require a new feature of scuba gear. What do you guys think?
  5. More Realistic Ore Veins

I think the primary ore veins should have excess material around them, to make it more realistic. For example lets take Native Copper. The vein is usually just like by itself, not with anything around it. But in real life, you have something like this: X=Primary Ore O=Secondary Ore -=Excess Ore Overhead shot: -OOO-OOO- --OOXX-OO O-OXXXO-- -OOXXOO- --OO-O-OO Also, the side shot: OO-OO-OO---O O-XXXXXXXX-OO -OO-OOOO-OOO In this diagram, The X represents the Native Copper. The O represents a secondary copper mineral, such as Bornite, Chalcopyrite, etc.. The - represents the lesser and more rare and excess copper minerals like Ajoite, Antlerite, etc..The farther away from the Native stuff,or the "Good" stuff, it becomes harder to extract the primary element from that mineral, and the farther you get it also occurs in smaller quantities. I hope this is clear enough for you guys to understand!
  6. So I have been playing TFC for quite some time now and was thinking about features to be added in the new TFC2, since I always liked the mining industry irl (find it interesting) and mining in theoldTFC, suggesting something based on mining is not ilogical imo. So since I like mining and I heard that there will be some majorbiome updates (have seen some of the dev screenshots from bioxx and they look amazing already) I was thinking of combining the two. My Idea comes down to this: In TFC2 there may be bigger mountain biomes that are home to more ores. The idea of stone based ore generation always attracted me and I assume this will be the same in TFC2 (correct me if im wrong) and since in real life mountains are most of the time home to more ores and more complex veins i thought this was a good idea. To be clear: Bigger mountain biomes, not biomes with giant mountains like the craig from BOP just a hilly like biome with rivers and stream and pine trees, what big about it? not as big as an ocean but bigger then your average biome, why? Well if more ores can spawn there closer to the surface and in bigger quanteties this may attrect players to venture in to the dangerous mountain areas you most of the time avoid. not quarry like mines because well these are mountains, but hardrock mine deep into the mountain rock, Mines that may house a copper vein so big (horizontally please) you may even find traces of lets say bismuth! an mining dream. Because these are mountains a good road may be contructed to make it more easy to transport the ores by donkey or by foot. if someone wants to go mad even a railroad may be contructed to haul the massive amounts of ore out of this hilly area to a more flat place where they are processed. Mining towns on servers between to big mountains may become a thing and this willcompletelychange the way you live, the village has to be contructed in a way it makes sence, a road system will be forced to go trough valleys and over rivers because you can just go anywhere. Inspiration: ATG mountain biomes seem perfect for the biomes, just bigger (not taller mountains) biomes and not just ridges. If anyone has any questions regarding this idea please ask in the comments, English is not my native language and I may not have made everything clear.
  7. [79.17] Mediterranean Mountains

Mediterranean Mountains Seed: 2262958115723974802 Description The rough Mediterranean like coast in this seed is the perfect home for the avid climber or for those who are seeking a scenic view from their Villa. The beach that you will land on marries the massive limestone mountains to the sea in classic Italian fashion leaving plenty of places to enjoy the expansive views which greet you from the vast summits. Although the landscape here is parched, there are plenty of sources of water for all of your farming needs. The winters may stress your crops a bit but they are not as severe as to put your survival at risk from exposure either. 8. Sulfur and Prospecting

Hello TerraFirmaCrafters! I was just wondering if anyone knows if sulfur, once obtained, increases the propecting skill of the player. Following that, does anyone notice how hard it is to get it to level up? Leave comments below -iPotato
  9. Hello, I just signed up a few seconds ago to post this question. I've been playing terrafirmacraft for a few weeks now and absolutely love it. It's made survival minecraft fun for me again. I am wondering if anyone knows the specifics of garnierite ore generation. I know it only spawns in gabbro rock. Luckily there is a large gabbro area directly under my base. (I chose the site for other reasons, didn't even know about gabbro rock then) Right away I found a medium deposit of poor garnierite and now I have used an iron and a steel pick searching for more and am wondering if there are any y coordinate spawning restrictions. In other words, are my chances of finding some better at a certain height? Or does it have an equal change of spawning anywhere in gabbro rock? Any other useful things to know about garnierite generation in general? Right now I'm using the mining suggestion found on this forum, I've dug a central corridor the length of the gabbro layer and every 22 blocks I'm branching out... so far nothing other than the small poor vein I found right away. Am thinking of giving up on red and blue steel, which is a shame because I really liked the game so far...
  10. I need a seed with lots of food

Hiya guys i need a seed that provides food and surface ores or a cave with ores, that would be enough Thnx
  11. How to find ores easily without a pick?

Hello fellow Terrafirmaccraftians, I am new too the Terrafirmacraft community and also need help because this my first time playing on a game like this. I have found some ores while walking around, however I need to get more to get like bismuth bronze and other metals to get my metal tools but I can't seem to find enough metal, so my question too you is, is there a easier way to get ores without a pickaxe and I know you can pan for gold but that wasn't that effective.... PLEASE HELP!
  12. Getting the right ratio

Hi, so I've been having trouble making more bismuth bronze. I had found ore pockets of copper bismuth and sphalerite but I can't seem to get the right ratios because the copper and bismuth are both 35 units and the sphalerite is 25 units and by my maths the smallest number that 35 and 25 Match up on is 175 and that won't fit all the ores into a vessel. So is there any way of making the ores smaller or am I doing something wrong? Thanks for your help.
  13. I had just gotten my first copper pickaxe and propick so I went over to a place where I had found ores before and opened a small mine shaft. some of the rocks I mined didn't give any drops, I didn't think much about that but some blocks DID drop something but then it was just gone as if it was never there.... (I saw that those where ores)
  14. Is there still the problem with duplicating item? I managed to get an infinite amount of empty molds, does this happens with ingots too? I found some zinc ores and hopped it will be enough for an ingot but turns out each ore filled only 0.1 of the mold. Is that a bug or the other ores are 10 : 1 ore ingot ration too?
  15. Me and my friend were playing on a b60 server, and we had pans and sluices set up, running all time, and we have run around in a large 500*1000 area, breaking rocks for ores, and i was able to find 2. Is this a bug, or am i just unlucky? EDIT: I have gone into creative with a redsteel prospectors pick, and shoveled around underground prospecting, i find trace of things, when i break said trace, it doesnt drop anything at all, is this a bug with the configs?
  16. How to find ores using a prospector's pick

Have you had enough flipping over rocks in search of measley small cassiterites? Do you want get down to the REAL mining? Have you scrimped and saved miniscule amounts of tin and finally managed to take your first tentative steps out of the stone age? Great! Now let's get you into the dirt and start PROSPECTING! You will need: A pickaxeA prospector's pickA shovel (probably)Ok. You've probably found a likely biome with loads of starter ores. (If you're not sure, the place where you found the small cassiterite/bismuthinite/sphalerite ores is a great place to start) Now, you wanna know how you find larger veins of these ores. It's EASY! As you wander through this biome, simply right-click on the ground with your prospector's pick (or 'propick' for short) With any small amount of luck, you'll get a hit. You're looking for ANY type of sample. (Traces, Small, Medium, Large, and Very Large). Once you get this, you're 95% done! Here's how I find ores: 1)Right-click the next block in your path (keep moving forward in a straight line if possible. If not, turn toward a direction where you can walk forward without having to scale a cliff or swim through a lake.) It will likely tell you the same thing. If you found a Medium sample, keep checking each block until it changes to a Small sample or a Large sample (it may say 'nothing found', in which case, check the block to the left or right of it, or the next block in your path, but keep moving FORWARD)You're looking for the point where the largest sample becomes smaller. 2)When you find the block where the sample size changes, turn around and COUNT BACK 12 BLOCKS. (You may need to start digging into a hill to proceed) 3)Turn left or right (perpendicular to the last path you were on). Start moving forward and right-click each of these blocks until you, once again, find the block where the sample size changes. 4)Again, turn around and COUNT BACK EXACTLY 12 BLOCKS. You are now somewhere above (or below, if you are now underground) the vein. 5)Dig down until you find your ore! (If you've gone 12 blocks down and have not found it, it may have been above you, or you miscounted) This method works well deep underground, where ore veins are enormous, too. Now, you may have found only a small amount of the ore you suspected was there. Don't worry! The starter metals close to the surface often spawn in small, scattered formations. Dig into the walls around you and, eventually, you will uncover more. Good luck, and happy prospecting!
  17. help!

Ok, this is my first playthrough of TFcraft so I search the wiki often. BUT this time I couldnt figure out my problem(s) by looking at it so here I am. I have 2 issues, 1. I've been wandering through a cave at Y=40-65 for half an hour with my stone prospecter's pick and havent "found anything of interest" I know I installed everything correctly because in creative on my test world I can access all the ores and everything as well as all the mod recipes show in NEI. I understnad this is supposed to make MC harder but seriously? half an hour and I havent found ANYTHING? 2. when I mine stone with my stone pickaxe (currently have found gabbro, marble, and diorite) all it drops is "X rock" (X being the type of stone it was) instead of dropping cobblestone of that type, hell even when I have a cave-in when I mine the cobble it just drops rocks. I'm not sure if this is intentional for a stone pick or if its a bug of some sort but I can get the stone itself by doing the mine all the blocks touching it trick. 2(a). stone pickaxes take FOREVER to mine diorite and gabbro in the videos I watch I'm not sure if its an older version or whatever but stone picks mine WAY faster.
  18. No ores nowhere?

Hello everyone! I have a small problem or it's actual a big problem I can't find any ore in the big ass caves near bedrock/bottem lava. It is impossible to find anything in the ground but saltpeter and rocks... on the surface i find a lot of clay... Then I flew around in creative mode for about 1 hour without any luck (and yes, i have used the prospector's tools.. and no im not only talking about cassiterite (tin).. it is all ores) Anyone knows why i can't find anything? How do i delete this?
  19. Confused about Ores

I'm a little confused about what's been said on a few videos and guides about smelting. I was given the impression that there were a few options to creating higher-tier metal items if you couldn't find cassiterite, like rose gold, black bronze, or bismuth bronze. However, from all of my attempts, it seems like every metal past copper requires a bronze anvil, which means tin. Bismuth bronze requires tin all the same. I've also heard that it's possible to go straight to copper without having to use a tier 1 metal, such as bismuth. My friend and I tried countless times trying to smelt copper in a firepit, using every high-temperature type of wood and a bellows. Nothing worked, as the copper was only able to get to Orange****. Any tips here? It says in the wiki itself that you can. I'm also wondering why brass isn't a workable metal when zinc and bismuth - definitely not pure metals you could realistically make any useful tool out of - are. Brass is stronger than copper is, and I think it would make a good top tier metal if one cannot find cassiterite. Brass has been used for ages, even before bronze I believe, and there was some use for weapons/tools for Egyptians and Romans, and possibly Chinese.
