      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

      There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
      If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
      I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

  1. For the next update, I have a suggestion on a small change. As it is now, you use one sulfur powder, one saltpetre powder and one piece of charcoal to make a portion of gunpowder. I think it would make more sense if you crushed the charcoal in a quern and got 4 powders from it. I think one whole piece of charcoal is a little too expensive for one gunpowder. Let me know what you guys think.
  2. A question about texture making

    Hello everyone. Lately I got a bit bored of the charcoal texture. I already changed the coal texture but the charcoal still feels too much vanilla. What I'm trying to do is taking images of real charcoal and try to modify them and get a charcoal texture that I could use in TFC, however so far I didn't have so much success. I don't mean to create a new Texture Pack because I am not that good, I am just trying to make new textures for personal use only. This: This is the first image that I liked and that I tried changing. First of all I tried simply scaling it down, but it didn't work, because what I got is this: I then tried other different things but not even one worked. So now I am trying to seek for help. If there's anyone that can help me or give me some useful tips that would be nice. Also, I am rather new to these things, so I am not able to draw it from scratch in a smaller scale, I would indeed prefer to get the final texture by working on the pic. I am also using GIMP, but I can use Photoshop too, it just needs to be installed first.

    I have done the charcoal pits exactly how the wiki and every other tutorial states and i have not been able to get it to work, once the fire pit is lit and fully covered i wait 10 min and nothing has happened only the fire pit has turned off. Please help! thanks
  4. Charcoal Pit Not Working

    I am using the latest version of TFC (78.16) and I cannot get charcoal pits to work. I light the firepit and seal up the pit and I see smoke particles coming through the top of the pit as expected. However, when the smoke particles stop many hours later and I open up the pit, I do not find charcoal. Most of the log piles in the pit are untouched and the log pile above the firepit is gone. I have tried about 10 different charcoal pit configurations both with dirt and building a permanent structure with bricks and a door. I have even tried the simplest charcoal pit of a firepit with one log pile above multiple times. I have never gotten any charcoal from any of the pit designs I have tried. Addtionally, I have noticed that the firepit sometimes lights itself on fire automatically. The firepit is cold and no logs in it, but when I try to place a log pile above it the first log falls into the firepit and it will start a fire before I can close the pit. In this situation I did not light the firepit with a firestarter, but it started itself of its own accord. Please help me. I love this mod so far, but this bug is driving me crazy and is incredibly frustrating. Everything else seems to work as it should from the wiki and from Youtube videos except the charcoal pit.

    So I know how to make a charcoal pit and stuff. I just wanted to know if a trapdoor counted as air?Also, the wiki said that doors don't count as air but are vanilla doors included in that?Last thing, can you put a floor in the charcoal pit? can the firepit in the center be on a different block? or does it matter?
  6. The bloomery appears to no longer accept charcoal or ores. The attached GIF demonstrates what happens when I complete a Bloomery and attempt to use it. (Sorry for the poor quality, but since my size limit is 500kb and I can't upload videos, this is all I can do) Am I doing something wrong? Whether I construct this on my own in Survival or in Creative, I get the same result. Can anyone else replicate this issue, or is this an issue with my installation? I installed using the same Forge build and followed the instructions, so I am clueless as to what else may be causing it. I am running Java 7 64-bit.
  7. Charcoal Pit

    Hey guys, i recently started playing this mod with some friends. gotta say i love the new survival aspect, even though i did have to lose out on some of my other favorite mods. The issue im having is with the charcoal pit. I got the actual charcoal, filled up the storage logs to the max, set them on fire and covered it all in dirt. The pit collapsed and found myself with my first creating of charcoal. According to all the guides ive seen, you are supposed to dig it out with a shovel. But not matter how long i go at it it fails to be extracted. The shovel takes damage and eventually break, but the charcoal just keeps getting to the point were its about to break then instaly replenish(can see this from the texture update) The only thing ive noticed is this while running forge: TerraFirmaCraft(TerraFirmaCraft:Build 76 Hotfix 17): TFCraft-Universal-Core-B2-Build76Hotfix18.zip () forge seems to see it as 17 and not 18, not sure if every1 else is like that.   8. Anvil + charcoal-placing bug

    Heyo, made an account just to report this bug: Running build 76 hotfix 17, I right-clicked with charcoal on the block below a wrought iron anvil, placing the charcoal in the same block as the anvil. The charcoal replaced it, deleting the anvil (not dropped) but it did drop the ingots and hammer. Tested in creative and this behavior happens to all varieties of anvil. Be careful where you hold your charcoal, kids! I'm just glad I happened to back up my world very recently.

  10. Hello there, I made and charcoal pit using douglas fir. Everything went well and after a while, I got charcoal. The thing is that I can't mine it (yes, with a shovel). I tried generating another world and it worked (but with different wood type). In creative mode, I can mine charcoal. => apparently, something is wrong with my world but I can't figure out what it could be. Any help? Majca

    In b62 a single piece of coal and charcoal can be used to make a full block of coal/charcoal. This block can be dug with a shovel to get extra fuel.
  12. Bloomery eating Charcoal. [52e]

    I've been having a problem with the Bloomery. I doubt that this is an intended feature, as I'll describe shortly. In previous versions of TFC, Charcoal would remain in the Bloomery after you finish a smelting cycle, so that you can reuse some of the charcoal in the next load of ore. Unfortunately, it seems that the charcoal is mostly disappearing after any ore finishes smelting. Case #1: 1 stack of 16 small Copper ore, 1 stack of 8 medium Copper ore. Put in about 20 pieces of charcoal. When the 8 medium ore finished smelting (it seems to smelt faster than the small pieces), it removed ALL the charcoal so the rest of the ore was stuck in the Bloomery. I had to put in another 20 pieces to get it high enough to finish smelting, a HUGE waste compared to pre-52e. Case #2: 1 stack of 16 small Copper ore. Put in about 10 pieces of charcoal. Had about 60kg of ore, and 40kg of charcoal. When the ore started coming in, I threw in another 15 pieces of charcoal. 90kg of charcoal disappeared when the Copper ore finished smelting. I don't think this is intended, and it certainly isn't desireable. It's not even [REDACTED].

    At first I thought it was because of the dirt that would fall on top of the firepit but now it's just bugging me. I've went into creative mode and make several different types of pits and they all keep ending up the ame way. Can someone explain?
