      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

  1. Bauxit

I was trying to figure out how to use bauxit ore. And I found recipe in TooManyItems, that I can use it for making red steel. I tried it in creative world, If I take molten bauxit from TooManyItems, it can be crafted to weak steel ingot. But I could melted only small or poor (not rich or normal ore) in crusible. Andit doesn't fill the mould. So, is there any other procedure, how to make it ?
  2. [Solved] Ore not melting

Have you read, understood, and followed all of the rules listed in large text at the top of the support forum? (Yes/No): yes Answering "no" to the above question will result in your post being deleted. TFC Version #: 0.79.20.710 Forge Version #: 10.13.4.1448 Please note that an actual number must be provided for both of the above fields. Simply saying "current" or "latest" will result in your post being locked, due to the fact that in a large number of cases, users who say they are using the "latest" or "current" version are actually using an outdated version. SSP/SMP (SinglePlayer/MultiPlayer): ssp Have you deleted your config files or are using default configs and are still able to reproduce this bug? (Yes/No): yes If you answered no to the above question, delete all 3 TFC config files (TFCCrafting, TFCConfig, TFCOre), do NOT edit or add to any of the files, and try to reproduce the bug. This question is here because many bugs are caused by mistakes in config files. If you are unable to delete your edited config files, please provide a list of the config options you have changed. Do you have any mods other than Forge and TFC installed? (Yes/No): Yes If yes, which mods? FastCraft If you have Optifine or Cauldron installed, can you still reproduce the bug after uninstalling them? (Yes/No): Yes, N/A If you answered no to the above question, uninstall Optifine/Cauldron and try to reproduce the bug. Both Optifine and Cauldron edit the base classes of forge that TFC uses. Because of this, we cannot officially support any issues that happen only when these mods are installed. In the majority of cases, TFC is not causing the bug; Optifine/Cauldron is and TFC can do nothing to fix it. All bug reports should have an answer of "Yes" to this question. If you refuse to uninstall Optifine/Cauldron, and cannot reproduce the bug when the mods are not installed, do not bother making a bug report, as it will be locked and ignored. Pastebin.com link of the Crash Report: Description: Ore in ceramic vessel is not melting / smelting. Placed 2 small Bismuthite, 2 small Sphalerite, and 2 poor Tetrahedrite in a ceramic vessel. Put into Kiln. After kiln burns out, ceramic vessel holds unchanged ore.
  3. Hello there folks, I created a tiny little alloy calculator for myself and I wanted to share it with you. I know there are other ones out there, but hey at least we can choose right? It's made in excel and it's my no means perfect, but it has all you'll need and it's offline and doesn't require you to have tablet or smartphone which I consider to be an advantage It contains a separate calculator for each alloy and they are separated to three sheets. Each calculator is divided to two parts, first one is used to calculate the percantages from given ore unit amounts (you'll input how much ores you want and it'll tell you the percentages of it), the second one requires you to set a fixed percentages and than calculates you the needed units from one ore input (keep in mind that the Units 1 and Units 2 columns are separate, and does not interact with each other) Using the calculator is simple you just have to remember these rules: Grey and white fields are just informational, green fields are calculated from your input and yellow ones are the ones you're supposed to tinker with. Based on information you put in those yellow fields the calculator will then calculate you the rest in the green. For exaple, you set two yellow fields in percentage column to 50 a 30. The calculator will then automaticly calculate the third value so you can't use more than 100%. Than you'll input the amount of alloy units you want to crate to the botom of Units2 column and bam, you have exact numbers. Sure, there are better ones out there, I am well aware of that but I didn't quite like them, that's why I made this one Download here: Calculator
  4. Getting the right ratio

Hi, so I've been having trouble making more bismuth bronze. I had found ore pockets of copper bismuth and sphalerite but I can't seem to get the right ratios because the copper and bismuth are both 35 units and the sphalerite is 25 units and by my maths the smallest number that 35 and 25 Match up on is 175 and that won't fit all the ores into a vessel. So is there any way of making the ores smaller or am I doing something wrong? Thanks for your help.
  5. I encountered the following issue twice yesterday. I was able to reproduce it at will. Bug Description: When handling liquid metal in the firepit, overflow to a second empty mold does not work if the current target mold is in the righthand output slot. Reproduction Steps: - Smelt ore in the firepit. Two empty ceramic molds are placed in the output slots to receive the metal. - Molten metal is first placed into the left of the two empty molds. - After smelting enough ore, the left mold fills up and any excess overflows into the right mold. Working as intended. - Remove filled mold from the left slot, insert new empty mold into the left slot. - Continue smelting ore. - Molten metal is placed into the right of the two molds, because it already has something in it. - After smelting enough ore, the right mold fills up but any excess does not overflow into the left mold and is instead lost. This is the bug. This might not seem very dire, but it is fairly annoying because you cannot insert half-filled molds into the output slots even if the metal is liquid. This means that as soon as you get overflow into the righthand mold, you need to remove both molds, and because you cannot insert the partially filled righthand mold into the left output slot, you need to cook it so it empties its few drops of metal into a new empty mold you hopefully placed into the lefthand slot before you can proceed. The issue is especially noticable if you try combine many partially filled molds after parallel-smelting in multiple campfires; I lost half an ingot's worth of the very first metal I ever found from combining two three-quarters filled molds in this way.
  6. Confused about Ores

I'm a little confused about what's been said on a few videos and guides about smelting. I was given the impression that there were a few options to creating higher-tier metal items if you couldn't find cassiterite, like rose gold, black bronze, or bismuth bronze. However, from all of my attempts, it seems like every metal past copper requires a bronze anvil, which means tin. Bismuth bronze requires tin all the same. I've also heard that it's possible to go straight to copper without having to use a tier 1 metal, such as bismuth. My friend and I tried countless times trying to smelt copper in a firepit, using every high-temperature type of wood and a bellows. Nothing worked, as the copper was only able to get to Orange****. Any tips here? It says in the wiki itself that you can. I'm also wondering why brass isn't a workable metal when zinc and bismuth - definitely not pure metals you could realistically make any useful tool out of - are. Brass is stronger than copper is, and I think it would make a good top tier metal if one cannot find cassiterite. Brass has been used for ages, even before bronze I believe, and there was some use for weapons/tools for Egyptians and Romans, and possibly Chinese.
