      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

      There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
      If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
      I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

suggestion: Zombie

I have a suggestion to make.

I don’t know if the developers will continue to use the standard mobs but if yes then this is my suggestion about one of them.

Zombie.

  • The zombie does not burn in day. They have other issues, I come to it later.
  • The zombie eats living flesh, blood.
  • The zombie “seesâ€, “feelsâ€â€¦, heat (let’s say in 20 blocks or more. It depends on the environment). This is how he hunts. It follows the heat.
Thus in the night (cold) the zombie follows the heat to find pray to feed.

In the day the sun makes the zombie confused unable to decide where to go (heat level high) and stands still.

If a living being come near the zombie (…3 blocks) then it will attack.

The light levels can be used as “heat “. The zombie can confuse the heat signals from afar. So a zombie will follow a living heat, a torch heat, fire pit, forge, bloomer, fire, lava.

But when he comes close (let’s say 3 blocks) the undead spark in his brain will know that his target is not living flesh and will make the zombie destroy the heat source. It will remove the torch, extinguish fire, forge, or if it cannot do else it will stop registering this source heat as a target.

Imagine. A cold night zombies roaming the forest, and then heat, they feel the heat all of them, all of them move as one to the heat, the fence gate, the door, in the house, in his screaming head… food…

  • “Mob Rulesâ€. A single zombie is not much…but a mob…

  • 1 zombie can : break a wooden fence gate, door, dig dirt,break glass
  • 2 zombies can: all of the above + given time break loose stone (cobblestone). Given time break wooden constrictions.
  • 3 zombies can: all of the above + 1 of them can step on top of the other and climb 2 blocks high. Break iron door.
  • 5 zombies can: all of the above + 1 of them can step on top of the other and climb 3 blocks high. Increase mobs awareness (heat sight range). Now they work as a swarm.
All of the above will make the mc zombie to a very strong dangerous opponent that if left unattended then very soon you will have on your front door, then in your home, then in you (or out of you) a serious problem.

i like some of the ideas but, i don't think a zombie could extinguish a forge, neither do i think 3 of them can break a solid iron door.

Also i think that breaking blocks won't be a good idea gameplay wise... Remember when endermen where first implented? That was hell especially on SMP servers.

In the future, the undead will probably be staying underground, in huge dungeons. They will be much more powerful than they are now, but because they rarely see daylight, any daylight at all will make them scream shrilly and disintegrate almost immediately. They will probably avoid sunlight at all costs. Zombies and the like are removed from the surface because nearly everything up there bites back, so even gathering food will be a problem.

I like the zombie idea for a stand alone mod, but I think it's already been done.

They will be much more powerful than they are now, but because they rarely see daylight, any daylight at all will make them scream shrilly and disintegrate almost immediately. They will probably avoid sunlight at all costs. Zombies and the like are removed from the surface because nearly everything up there bites back, so even gathering food will be a problem.
