      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

      There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
      If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
      I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

Disappearing Fire Pit

Ok so I just started a world with TFCraft and I go to make a charcoal pit and everything seems to be going fine. I just made the basic small one from the wiki. Although when it is no longer smoking and I go to check it the both the logs and the fire pit are no longer there. I have tried twice in a row and nothing seems to work. From what I have seen is the fire pit is supposed to be left behind filled with the resulting charcoal. Am I doing something wrong?

Read the changelog daily. It will help. I suggest you read the whole thing the first time.

  • The firepit uses a new search algorithm, similar to tree felling which allows it to support charcoal pits of varying shapes and sizes up to 25m wide and 13m tall. In order to start the charcoal process a lit firepit simply needs 1 logpile on top of it. The firepit must still be lit at the base of the charcoal pile. Important: The charcoal is now spit out into the world and the firepit will disappear upon completion. This is not a bug, the firepit simply can’t hold that much charcoal.

So we have to be very careful of the 5min item despawn time then. That kind of stinks. Thanks for the help though it was my fault for assuming the tutorials and things I had found were still up to date.

With how fast updates come, the Wiki and tutorials get out of date pretty quick. And yes, the 5 minute timer sucks, but until(if) another method is come up with(personally, I think it is just lazy coding but that is just me), you basically have to stand guard over your charcoal factory until it is done.
