Inheritance isn't mutation or evolution, it is the inheritance of genes or alleles that already exist. Mutation is a whole other subject and would frankly be waaaaaaay to complicated/in-depth for tfc, remember this isn't a simulation, just a mod that makes a game more fun.

Probably more, maybe less. I'd say a 1% chance of a mutation might be believable. That mutation would then be part of the gene pool for the next generation, if it isn't already.

hehe... I know. I don't know much of anything about mutation, but I guess, in TFC, mutation would just be random aquiring of small traits. Maybe a randomly slightly taller crop one season. This would help TFC farmers get desirable traits faster.

That is the good kind of mutation, but, the same thing would happen with inheritance, a plant could inherit the recessive allele that makes it tall from two heterozygous parents that are short. So adding in mutation would be a lot of work for a repeated mechanic, don't ya think?

Go read the wikipedia article on mendelian inheritance if you don't know much about it, it will clear things up for you.
