      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

[CLOSED] B64 no sound

43 posts in this topic

I've found something...

I wanted to get back to the long new music by Menoch (I love them !!!) instead of the short one we have now.

So i get B60 and put the music in the B64 music folder.

And what i found is that B60's Sycamore heights.ogg wasn't overwritten because B64 is Sycomore Heights.ogg

If it could help :)

That sounds like a bingo.

Yes. The cause to this is because this is a forum, not an online bingo so we can't obviously play bingo. We need to make it sound like a bingo.

You lost me.

Oh, true. Forgot that you don't like kidding. Sorry then.

It's not that I don't like it. I quite enjoy humour, I just don't understand a number of types, and others that are difficult to see without gestural indication are pretty much invisible for me. Iow I can't know when people are joking often.

I changed the name on that one file that Felys identified inside the TFC zip and have not had it bug out since and also heard a piece of music that I had not heard yet. So I'm quite certain it is in fact this little typo causing the crash.

Would i have found the Bug ?

Great !

My little brick to TFC masterpiece :)

Waiting for Bioxx confirmation ;)

So Bioxx has fixed the typo in B65, but as he notes, this is not a guarantee of the fix yet. There's indication from our crash reports that this may have been the cause, but all of us who have noted it should try to keep an ear open for this after upgrading (or chging the file name). If you notice the sound gone, close MC right away and get a crash log (very easy in MultiMC, but it's in your mc dir if you don't use it).

I actually saw the issue occur after I changed the filename. I posted a log last night but it got lost in the move. It had the same exception as others here.

I had this problem consistently, then I turned music off and it never happened again.

That's not particularly useful. It clearly has something to do with the sound, we're just trying to figure out what.

Ok, Bioxx changed the filename, as he says, at least everyone will hear that music :)

Now, let's see if that bug persist with B65.

As Bioxx demand, i wil mark that post as closed since it concern B64 and now we are in B65.

So, not solved but closed.
