      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

Stylish Builds

7 posts in this topic

I am rather new at Terra Firma Craft and was wondering if anyone knew types of logs, planks, or/and stones that look good together. The only decent combination I have found is birch planks and douglas fir logs, so I have pretty much built everything out of that. I would like a few new options though.

I love building out of granite, it's a white block with a tiny bit of texture. It goes well with dark blocks, like basalt, but even better with dark gray ones, like andesite.

For wood, I like building Douglas Fir logs as corner beams, with horizontal willow logs as the walls. Chestnut makes a very cool dark wood.

I myself like a combination of granite and douglas fir (both plank blocks and logs). And as of recently I've been using hickory planks for window and door frames and such (they fit with the dark douglas fir logs). But there are many great combinations, I think the real fun is in trying them out yourself :)

having tried to make a set of combining materials, i discovered the huge amount of variables there can be, its huge really. And a downside i see in the Texturepack is that most of the planks have weird unrealistic colors, i think i will better make a guide on how to combine materials, or a video maybe, what would you prefer?

I can also make a set of builds that look good and are not so expensive.I can accept requests.

I would love both, but if I had to pick, I would go with a video on how to combine materials. I feel like it would be better to learn how to do it myself than constantly copy other people's builds.
