      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

[Solved][b78.7]Ingots do not keep temperature in anvil and forge

4 posts in this topic

Version #: b78.7

Suggested Name: Ingots do not keep temperature in anvil and forge

Suggested Category: Annoying

Description: I'm surprised this was not reported already, but once I progressed to the point of making ingots and a forge, I realised that the heated ingots do not keep their temperature in the anvil slots and forge auxiliary slots. To be honest, I only tested with rose gold ingots.

Have you deleted your config files and are still able to reproduce this bug?: Yes

This was an intentional change, not a bug. Everything cools/decays at the same rate regardless of what slot it is in.

No really? You got to be kidding me. How user-unfriendly. On a server with lag, it's already hard to take quick actions. I would get RSI from this game.

When I first realized this was the case I was a bit mad, but after playing with it I actually prefer it this way. Smithing is harder now, requiring perfection, so it takes longer and as a result you might need to heat the ingot more than once, which is actually really cool! In single player i had no trouble whatsoever welding copper or bronze (i made a copper anvil in two batches of copper without so much as a lit firepit) so if the server is laggy enough to make welding impossible, it probably shouldn't be a server.

Just for fun I stuck enough material in 3 clay vessels for 11 bronze each and tried to make the 8 double sheets for a bloomery, managed to get a double sheet, two single sheets, and a double ingot before everything was too cool to work with. Thats pretty forgiving on temperature IMO
