mob drops question

i just remembered that certan mobs have a "rare" drop chance and i was wondering if they still do have this chance to drop there rare drop (zombies droping iron ingots/swords/helms) if so theres our way of getting buckets.

They do drop those items (as of B2Pr2 - have to test at B2Pr9), so it's possible to build dropgrinder at which you just punch the mobs with half heart of life to get drops.

Those items are still indeed dropped.. I saw sinlust sporting an iron helm when I logged in to my server last night, before the pre12 reset

Until we get TFBuckets it'll be nice to have a source for them. I guess dungeons still spawn as well

I doubt it because dungeons only generate on plain cobblestone and since the vanilla cobblestone was removed dungeons wont spawn! But this is just me guessing!

bad guess.

Dungeons are a form of generated structures. they are added by the terrain generator during worldgen. they do not spawn on cobble at all. the cobble replaces whatever block was added by the base terrain generation when the spawner get added. I believe caves and ravines are added after spawners, so in some cases the entire dungeon room, sans the spawner may be removed by the intersecting cave. ever seen a spawner hanging in the middle of a big ravine? lots of lulz when the mobs start popping out and promptly fall to their deaths 30 blocks below.
