      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

look at a static compilation for optimal performance (yes, C# can in fact be compiled completely to machine code)

That is not what causes performance problem. Inability to manually manage memory is where performance problems of C# lie. And C# is compiled to machine code every time you run it. C# is and never was interpreted.

computers can do almost anything with enough ingenuity

Computers can do almost anything with enough time and money. While ingenuity makes things easier, it is not enough.

So what your basiclly saying is that if i put my grandma upto making something, that is a break true in sience on the PC, she can pull it off simply because she has enough time and money ?

For some reason i strongly doubt that.

Considering your grandma is not stupid and hires someone for that money. It is quite plausible.

Meaning she is going to need atleast some ingenuity to figure that out ;)

Id say ingenuity is a rather bigger factor, as it can save you loads on the other factors to begin with, after that i would say size and quality matters as it can potentially cut down a serious amount of time and effort needed. Time and money would be lower since they depend more or how much ingenuity you have to figure out how to reach certain goals, same goes for quality and size for that matter. Money and time how ever become a big factor if you want to commercialise a product/project and size/quality will matter a lot more then, and your mostlikey not going to be able to (mass-)produce the product/project on your own.

More on-topic, im still kinda baffeld (or however you spell that) at this project, im wondering how its going to work out. Been reading up quite a bit on this simply because the logic behind it is kinda intresting. Also cant wait to see what dunk and Bioxx can do with it when they get there hands on it when its done, id imagen id be quite amazing.

Hi, everyone.

Really interested idea, though I think so realistic map would not be so useful in game.

I had some experience with real-time water erosion (though I used self made algorithm, which is childish may be) but I had great time playing with it. May be you want to do non-minecraft geological simulator thing? This would take away some restriction. And may be you should little reduce your expectations. That what you want to do is a biiig work to do.

Maybe there can be more ravines or trenches where two rock types meet like a clollision

Why would you revive a topic that is no longer discussed? :/

We allow necros that are relevant, bring something new and prevent multiple topics on the same thing. This topic has not been active for over 6 months, this discussion took place in context of build 78, the dev/OP has not even visited the forum for nearly 6 months and you have not brought anything that justifies the necro.

Please let the dead rest.
