      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

Missing Blocks/Chunk Generation

3 posts in this topic

Version #: TFC-0.78.17SSP/SMP (Single/MultiPlayer): SMPSuggested NameMissing Blocks/Chunk GenerationSuggested Category: SevereDescription It started with a "Forge Mod Loader has found ID mismatches" and I was unable to log in at all.  I deleted the config files but that didn't work at first so I re-uploaded the .jar files and deleted the configs again and that seemed to stop the ID mismatches error at least.  Then the crashes started.  I could log in but would fall to bedrock and then time out about 20 seconds later and the server would be unreachable until I restarted it.  (Most recent crash log pastebin below).  I then downloaded the .jar file again (same version) and the crashes stopped after that.  When I logged in successfully all the existing blocks seem to have been removed except for Gravel, and newly spawned chunks generate about 80 blocks lower than previous chunks.  Water physics, grass, and torches still act as if blocks are in place.  It is difficult to explain any more so I've attached a screenshot.  As far as I can tell the server isn't the problem (Nitro Panel host) since I was still able to run Vanilla maps fine. Also new chunks don't seem to spawn TFC materials.  Grass cut gives seeds and Pig raw pork says "DONT USE ME OR YOU WILL CRASH" where the amount usually is displayed.Have you deleted your config files and are still able to reproduce this bug?: Yes, but the crashing only stopped when I re-uploaded the .jar files.  The missing blocks looks permanent.Do you have any mods other than Forge and TFC installed?: No.  One forum suggested "Too Many Items" Mod to resolve a similar problem with the ID mismatches but I don't want to cause more problems by using a new mod before I'm certain it won't cause damage.Pastebin.com link of the Crash Report: http://pastebin.com/g4F78rFe The crash isn't happening anymore, but this was the last crash message I received.

Thanks for your help.

Are you sure that you are using the correct jar file to run the server? You should be running "minecraftforge-universal-1.6.4-9.11.1.965-v164-pregradle.jar" to start the server, which you may have possibly renamed to "custom.jar" and uploaded that to your host panel. The crashes and weird behavior that it's showing looks like you are using the regular vanilla jar to start the server, which would result in just a vanilla world trying to be loaded with TFC.

Once you can confirm that you are indeed using the correct jar when starting the server, you'll need to delete the world save files for the server to get rid of all of those screwed up chunks that were generated by you using the wrong jar.

The only blocks that are showing up are gravel, wood, torches, sugarcane, leaves, and water, in other words, modified vanilla blocks.

I would agree with kitty; the most likely cause is the server thinks it's running a vanilla world.
