      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

Looks alright, I don't like the sanity idea. I like the feature of having to boil dirty water. But all in all I will stick to terrafirmacraft it is more fleshed out and we are soon to see body temperature and dehydration in the next update or two.

I did, and I don't like it.

For one, it doesn't have any tech-tree or anything to follow, it just gives a bunch of things to be aware and bunch of things to prevent that.

Also, it needs to be very fleshed out. Right now, it pretty much just makes you carry around useless things like flowers and leaves just to keep your bars topped off.

I mean, why the heck is it that turning off the lights at my house to sleep makes me go insane when staring at a flower while in a cave besieged by monsters keeps me perfectly sane?

And why on earth must l leave randomly placed leaves in my mineshaft so I don't suffocate from the torches I placed?

Also, the physics thing is kinda annoying when you build.

Also, the temperature thing is quite annoying.

I had mo creatures and that civilization mod installed, and every single NPC and the ents where sweating like nuts, and I kept on sweating too, which really bothered my view and was really annoying

I mean, the idea is good, but it could use a lot of improvements

I'd say that this could possibly be a competitor to TerraFirmaCraft, a major one, if you will. Although, the differences here are that TFC is all about believability, not realism, whereas this EnviroMine mod is probably going to try to emulate reality in a huge way.

I've only skimmed through the thread, so while I can't really make a judgement of EnviroMine, I think I'll be sticking to TFC as my main total conversion mod. Perhaps I'll try out the mod in a later time.

The creators of EnviroMine benefit from the fact they are not concerned with world generation. From their perspective they just want to improve MC survival. That lightens the workload considerably but also comes with limitations in terms of crafting and resources (since most of the game is still vanilla MC). The other benefit is that most other MC mods should be quite compatible with it. I likewise think it could arguably be an impressive enhancement to MC. Personally, i'm not that interested because, believe it or not, I greatly enjoy the geology and metallurgy TFC adds.

Same thing here. I think the unique generation TerraFirmaCraft has is one of its strongest, if not the most strongest, points as a mod. With that kind of generation, it's much better than the Minecraft vanilla generation in more ways than one, in my opinion.

I don't think Enviromine and TFC can really be compared. Enviromine feels more like an accessory mod, one that would be better played with other mods rather than just on its own.

I agree with AllenW that it's a good concept but it's still in need of a lot more re-thinking and bug fixes. To name another inconsistency you can't warm yourself up at all in any way while inside a cave, not even with a campfire. But if you're outdoors in the same freezing climate at night you can warm up rapidly with just a single torch.

Not to bash it though. It is still playable, a nice idea and I'm looking forward to seeing how it develops.

Enviromine is made to be extremely modular. So you can take what you want from it without needing the rest of it

Customizable and configurable on a block type falling physics is really neat. Of course it may be completly incompatible with TFC as it is (I haven't tested combining the two)
