      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

      There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
      If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
      I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

Is there a way to have less mountains?

Every single world I've generated is full of them everywhere... I'd love to see plains much more often than mountains. It's also the reason why I don't play vanilla amplified.

 

So, if there's a way I'd love to know about it.

There is not. You'll just have to explore the world until you find a TFC Plains biome, or keep trying different world seeds until it spawns you in one.

I've just started on a server and walked 4k south without seeing a single mountain, there is plenty of flat land to be had!

In my current single player game I have yet to see anything bigger than a large hill.  Lots and lots of small rivers, lots of clay, with plains and small  forests.  I WISH I could find mountains - if I remember right there may be sheep there.

Start a superflat world.

 

TFC doesn't have superflat worlds. The option is there to select on the world generation menu, but it doesn't actually do anything. You'll still end up with a standard TFC world, mountains and all.

I wondered why it looked so glitchy... hope it gets fixed.

 

You could also simply blow out the mountain with a gunpowder keg, they really pack a punch to even the biggest cliffs.
