      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

      There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
      If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
      I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

Can barrels stop Decay?

No, barrels provide mobile storage, they do not currently slow the decay of any food. To me this seems a little silly, for hundreds of years barrels are what people have used to store apples and root vegetables (among other foods) but for the time being the only storage unit that slows decay is the small vessel.

Actually I've had a similar thing with this. If you put food with any amount of water in it the food will be in a sort of suspended animation, aka it wont decay. The only thing is when you take it out the decay will skyrocket and begin to destroy the food UNLESS you use a knife and cut decay of the food. If you do it fast enough the food will only decay a little and will stop catching up with time. Essentially makes the food last infinitely, and removing it from the barrel will only cost a very minut, .01-.05%, of the food each time.

You using latest build? That sounds like the decay not updating bug, that should be fixed.

Yup, 79.8, I have tried removing my config files and it still happened and I am not using any other mods :D
