Splitting Blooms

I was about to make a bug report because I couldn't split my 840% blooms on the anvil. (Yes, I know what I'm doing and it was lined up with punch last) After 4 failed blooms I tried re-selecting the plan for refiened blooms, since raw blooms only have one thing you can make with them it is selected by default but if it doesn't work, re select the final product (refined bloom) and then do the finishing moves again. Hope this helps anyone. 

 

Let me know if this is happening to you in the latest build, if anyone can re-create this it deserves a full report.

 

@Kitty, tried to recreate this but it seems to be inconsistent. (was playing 79.8 SMP, which change log says blooms have been fixed in. I went into SP and tried to test everything needed for a proper report but it didn't repeat itself in my testing.)

Was it on a server? I've had it where the shown plan is different than the actual plan on a server.

I've seen this too...sometimes the bloom doesn't split. 

 

I've had it so it's cooled too much and I've had to reheat it, then as soon as I put it back into the forge it split, without even a tap. Agree, it's inconsistent and I have no specific way to reproduce it.

Once I re selected the plan, one of the blooms split like this, without further interaction. It only happened with one though and they were all lined up. Very strange indeed.

OP mentions it was 79.8 SMP. There is no other plan for a bloom of 840%, just one.

I have been playing in Minecraft 1.7.10 (single player), with TFC 79.8 and have made myself a wrought iron anvil - and the blooms (600%) were working in the bronze anvil - punching the raw bloom gave 6 refined 100% blooms. I was making such good progress toward getting some iron shears so I can get a bed.

So with the wrought iron anvil having used up all my wrought iron, I thought, next step knife blades - once I had enough charcoal to make another bloom (600%) I then tried to refine it as before, but without success, on either the wrought iron anvil or the bronze one. A second bloom has also failed to progress - I kept landing on the spot where it should have refined and split, time after time. I did try selecting the plan, but this did not have any effect.

Is there a problem once the bloom has been worked on, and simply reheating is not enough? Do I need to stick it back in the bloomery and start "fresh"?

In an attempt to try to fix it, I decided to upgrade to 79.10.375, but the same problem persists.

I am using NEI 1.0.3.62, Leather Water Sac 3.3.B79, TFC 79.10.375, Fastcraft 1.9, Mapwriter 1.7.10 - 2.1.2, Terrafirmacraft plugins for NEI 1.7.10 - 1.0.0.

Any ideas?

 

Actually - I just went and tried reheating my blooms, then selecting the split option in the plans, and it has worked - thank you for the tip! And the second one just split apart as soon as I selected split from the plan menu.

I gave up on splitting because of this. I now just process them into ingot molds in the forge with the help of bellows.
