      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

[Irrelevant] Inventory management with forges and ingots / forge deletes stacks

3 posts in this topic

Do not use hotkeys to place stacks of ingots in forge slots, it can and will delete your items!

Version #: 79.10 (and 79.9)

SSP/SMP (Single/MultiPlayer): both

Suggested Name: Hot ingot stack movement

Suggested Category: Minor

Description: Normally you can only put one ingot in each of the 5 slots of a forge, I was using the forge and had 28 pig iron in my hot-bar for making an almost-full crucible of black steel. Instead of shift clicking the pig iron into the forge for heating I just hovered over a forge input slot and hit 2, it just seemed convenient at the time. What then happened was that the entire stack of ingots moved into one forge slot and started to heat up all together, this didn't strike me as a bad thing (I kinda felt like a pro blacksmith using advanced techniques :P). However, while pumping the billows to heat the weak steel in the crucible on top, the pig iron ingots in the forge below reached melting point and were promptly spit out as molds, I keep 32 molds in my forges, so I should have gotten all my pig iron back without a problem however, to my dismay I found that 4 ingots were sitting around me as liquid in molds and the other 24 had been deleted.

This is either a bug about inventory management or a bug about forges deleting ingots, depending on what the devs think is a problem.

Have you deleted your config files and are still able to reproduce this bug?: Yes

Do you have any mods other than Forge and TFC installed?: Discovered in a modded environment, then confirmed in a clean TFC directory.

Note: Due to the way that vanilla Minecraft handles shift clicking, as well as pressing hotbar numbers, any bugs resulting from using these methods will simply be "fixed" by disabling the use of the method.

This will be fixed by disabling the use of hotbar numbers in the forge UI.

Understood, but still felt I should report in case you cared about the way forge blocks handle stacks of ingots. If not I'll just change title and make sure not to do this again.
