      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

[79.12 Not likely to be solved anytime soon] TerraFirmaCraft.Phyllite_Rock == Minecraft_Stone?

9 posts in this topic

Version #:79.12

SSP/SMP (Single/MultiPlayer): Multiplayer

Suggested Name: Phyllite rock/vannila stone

Suggested Category: Minor

Description: While exploring, I came across the queerest thing I ever did see:

Posted Image

That, my friends, is a phyllite rock (You know, the kind you find on the ground) using the texture of vanilla stone. I have no idea why it is doing this. I have no texture packs enabled.

(p.s. could possibly be andesite)

Have you deleted your config files and are still able to reproduce this bug?: Yes

Do you have any mods other than Forge and TFC installed?: Yes

If yes, which mods?

Fastcraft for me, none on the server (Rhodance Hugbox)

I've seen this a few times with debris. It doesn't matter if it's ore, a rock, or a stick and I can confirm that it only happens in SMP. Honestly no clue what is causing this, as it is only a rendering issue. Breaking the block properly drops the correct item.

Huh, well that's interesting. I guess I'll let it sit there as a quirky little easter egg. I'll change the title.

Have you tried relogging? Usually that fixes it and it updates the texture to show the correct one. Switching between fast and fancy graphics will also update it as well. No point in leaving it there to show anybody or come back and look at later, because it probably won't look like that again.

Relogging didn't help (Tried 5 times). I'll try switching graphics settings and seeing if that does anything

Dying did the trick.

As an aside, I've never had this bug happen to me. That is, until an hour ago I changed my java arguments to match those you posted in http://terrafirmacraft.com/f/topic/7404-chunk-gen-crash/. My previous settings were just the defaults (With increased memory). Super unlikely that has anything to do with it at all, but I'll have a look and see if that might have triggered something.

I mimicked this in SSP when goofing around with worldedit. Undoing things made debris look like that when undoing things. The typical WE not liking modded stuff.

have had the same thing happen in my single player world while exploring and loading a bunch of new block chunks at once. Picking up the item, opening my inventory, and relogging always fixed it for me. All i have installed besides TFC is voxelmap. I just thought i was making the game "hiccup" with chunk loading XD

Isn't this something to do with 2D rendering? I've seen it, ignored it and moved on. After a new chunk loads it seems to go away... and I've only EVER seen it immediately after a log on.
