      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

[Intended] Falling dirt/sand removes tile entities

5 posts in this topic

Version #: 0.79.13.468SMP and SSPSuggested Name: Falling dirt/sand removes tile entitiesSuggested Category: Annoying-Potentially severeDescription: When you use gravity to drop a dirt or sand block on a sign, it will destroy the sign instead of the dirt block. This also has a tendancy to crash you if you drop it on a pit kiln, but I cant test it right now.Have you deleted your config files and are still able to reproduce this bug?: Yes, fresh config files after the last update.Do you have any mods other than Forge and TFC installed?: NoIf you have Optifine or Cauldron installed, can you still reproduce the bug after uninstalling them?Cauldron is not the issue as it is easily replicated in SSP and SMP.Pastebin.com link of the Crash Report: No crash

I think this is intended (except for the crash of course).

yes, this is intended, falling dirt/cobble/sand/gravel will break signs, torches, thatch, tall grass, and probably some other things i've forgotten about. Please read the changelog

With the exception of the crash, this is indeed intended behavior. This change was made so that players cannot protect themselves from cave ins, or quickly harvest cobble/dirt/gravel/sand by covering the floor with stuff like torches, or signs, or any other tile entity. It makes sense that the big heavy block destroys the flimsy little sign, not the other way around.
