      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

Use for Lead

5 posts in this topic

It could be cool to make like casting channels to move molten metal outputed from the blast furnace into a crucible, and usually there where lead pipes like 100 years ago.

First I suggest you reread the rules for suggestions. If a idea/suggestion has been discussed the admins want you to reply to that thread and not starting a new one. The is already a topic for the use of Galena (lead) on the first page.

Secondly I can't imagine lead pipes ever being used in a steel producing blast furnace. The melting point of lead is incredibly low compared to molten steel.

Hahahahahaha, I assume this is a joke? I mean, seriously, your profile pic is a Trollface panda.

Lead WATER pipes were used in Rome 1000's of years ago. Hence the word for Plumber from the Latin for lead Plumbum and the atomic symbol for lead Pb.

The melting point of lead is 621°F, over 2,000°F BELOW the melting temperature of pure iron. Yeah, that would work really well.

In the future if you are tempted to troll please put it in off topic or discussion or somewhere considerate that will not clutter up the forums where the real information is.

To hector: ok, ok i can make mistakes to. i didn't think of lead melting temperature, but your idea to make it for water transport isn't bad at all. And by the way, it isn't a troll face, it's a LoL face

to bunsen: for further suggestions ill follow the rules (i didn't know they did exist) and you were right to

i put the example of lead as the material of the casting channels, but the main idea i wanted to show is the channel by itself, and if i could add a use for lead in the way, perfect.

please, the further replys to this thread, ill be glad if they could be about ideas to complement my suggestion or materials it could be made of, and not saying why am i stupid and laughing about my suggestion

So when you went to click on the Start New Topic button, you didn't think to read any of that massive text titled "Rule for Posting: " that you had to scroll by first?
