      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

      There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
      If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
      I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

Crop Growth

I'm looking at creating another addon to implement a greenhouse to extend the growing periods of crops by a few months. Any direction for this project would be awesome, also I'm having troubles tracking down the code that handles if a crop does or doesn't grow determined by the time during a year cycle.

I don't believe that crops care about time of year. Their growth rate is dependent on hydration of block, nutrients of block and temperature. They also have temperature variables, which determine if they can grow and if they will die. I believe that there is a range for the crops popping after being planted, once in range there is a chance they pop, but once below the range they 100% pop. However I'm not certain on that information, but it may give you a clue as to where to look in the code. Questions on where in the code base to look are best asked in the IRC where you'll likely get a faster more accurate response.

I definitely confused farmland crops and wild crops with their growth cycle. Thanks for the further input.

Crops care about temperature, which is related to time of year. Set up a base in an area that drops below zero in winter... Make the most of Summer and store/preserve food, because winter will be hard if you don't, unless you only eat meat and cheese.
