[Solved] What am I doing wrong?

Hey Guys, newbie here. 

 

First off I wanted to express how much I appreciate the amount of work that went into this mod. I played Vanilla Minecraft (1.8) for about 1 year prior to learning about this mod and I can safely say I will never be able to go back to Vanilla after this. 

 

Thank you very much for all the hard work, it has paid off. 

 

I do have a question or 2 though, I have started to get into iron working now that I have a rich supply of Li-MON-ITE!

 

Could some one look at this picture and tell me why I did not get an Iron ingot. From my knowledge I have matched up the red and green arrow and performed the last 3 operations as show above but nothing happened.

Second questions, I have been searching high and low for Kalonite? (To make a crucible) and I finally found 2 pieces which yielded 2 pieces of fire clay ( I have Graphite already). My question is does Kalonite spawn in large numbers? Where I found the 2 pieces I have been digging around alot and haven't found anymore. Should I keep looking or starting looking else where.

You need to manually select the plan, don't depend on the auto select. Try reheating, put in anvil, select plan. If that doesn't work you may need to redo it.

Kaolinite can spawn in very small or quite large deposits. If the vein you found isn't yeilding at least a large reading I'd note its location and move on. I've had veins that were only two blocks before.

Ok, thanks for the advice. I will give that a try tonight.

The plans can be finicky. Always manually select them.
