      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

[Rule #2] Does 4 wool no longer make cloth?

6 posts in this topic

as per the wiki, 4 wool/yarn make cloth, which I need to make a bed.

Any special thing I am supposed to be doing here?

thanks.

I like that making a bed is a real undertaking now, since being able to sleep the night away is a huge thing.

You can make a bed from Leather usually much sooner with only 1 piece of large leather (Not sure what drops that - Bears do, anything else?)

It needs to be refined though, you can now make a mini barrel from clay to do the job.

That doesn't sleep the night away, but does reset your spawn point at least.

You can make a temporary bed with 2 blocks of thatch and a large raw hide, not leather, that's different. http://wiki.terrafirmacraft.com/Straw_&_Hide_Bed

I actually asked Kitty that on Reddit she responded with

The size of the hide is based on the size of the full grown animal. You may notice when coming across a larger group of pigs in the wild, that some of them actually look bigger than others, even though they are all adults. The bigger pigs are more likely to drop a bigger hide. The species does also play a role in the size of the hide though, like you'll never find a pig who drops a large hide.

So (with my additional testing) I've found horses, cows and bear all can drop large hides depending on their size when fully grown. I'm assuming that pigs, sheep, wolves, deer, and poultry cannot drop large hides (deer are the ones I am most unsure about).

you are correct, cows, horses and bears are the only animals that can be large enough to drop large hides. The other animals will always drop either a small or medium hide.
