      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

      There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
      If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
      I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

need help getting tfc server on ubuntu 14.04

Im trying to get a server going on my desktop(its too hard on my laptop running a multiplayer server AND playing the game) that has ubuntu 14.04. i am somewhat able to work in ubuntu but am by far to pro, just an amateur tinkerer. I  have tried using the tutorial wiki but its not very detailed on linux and I cant seem to find the instalation .jar file for the most recent edition of forge.

 

basically all  i have done is have java and forge installed(albeit an older versio of forge than the most current one for MC 1.7.10

just use the dropdown at the top to select 1.7.10, and then it will show you both the latest and the recommended. Then you click on the word Installer (or the * next to it if you want to skip the ad) to get the forge installation .jar file.

thank you for that link! i was wondering what the asterik meant!

 

now for the run.sh file. is making it the same process as a run.bat? save as/rename and change it to run.sh?

 

how do i do the  chmod +x run.sh?   Ive tried putting that into terminal and it didnt do much? and after i did when i run the run.sh file it doesnt do anything noticable?

 

third, manually opening the forge-1.7.10-10.13.2.1291-universal jar file manually opens the server fora little while then it closes without creating any other files, such as eula, world, whitelist, and all the other files it creates upon first opening. am i missing something?

Did you edit the eula file to set it to true so you accept the EULA?

the eula file doesnt appear. all  of those files that usually appear dont, like whitelist, banned ips world folder etc
