      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

      There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
      If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
      I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

[Solved] tfccrafting config file

I have a server  store where my players can buy netherrack, is expensivelly and just for aesteticks purposes, like making a fireplace.

TFC Flint and steel does not lights netherrack.

So I went to the configs and changed the conversion value for flint and steel to true, I understood that using tfc items would then give me a minecraft flint and steel item instead of a tfc item.

Maybe I misunderstood what that config actually does.

In any case what would be the best way to handle this?

Any help is appreciated.

Both the server and the players need to update their configs. Unfortunately, due to the way that crafting recipes are handled, this isn't something that we can easily force to be synced from the server to clients.

 

Edit: I realize your confusion. The conversion recipes are for you to put the crafted TFC item into the crafting grid and the vanilla item will appear in the output slot. So make a TFC flint and steel using TFC materials. Then put the TFC flint and steel in the crafting grid. The vanilla flint and steel will appear in the crafting output slot for you to complete conversion.

 

For example: This is what the diamond conversion recipe looks like:

All of the conversion recipes are for taking a TFC item, and directly converting it using the crafting grid into it's vanilla counterpart. It does not skip this step for you and just give you the vanilla item instead of the TFC one.

If you target the side of block beside the netherrack it will light it. Quirk of tfc.

First thanks for the explanation kitty, I looked in the forum and searched for config, crafting and conversion also tfccrafting, but could not find what I was looking for. I was just about to make a suggestion for a tread explaining all the config options when I found the page in the wiki. Sorry, I should have looked there first.

And Busan, thanks also.That solves my problem alll I have to do is inform my players to target the side of the block or a block higher and to the back, I tested and it works. I was using a system in the old server where players could exchange a tfc flint and still for a minecraft  in the market.
