      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

[SOLVED] Can't complete a 95% unrefined bloom

7 posts in this topic

TFC Version #: 79.15.538 Forge Version #: 1.7.10-10.13.2.1272 SSP/SMP (SinglePlayer/MultiPlayer): SSP Description: I've created an unrefined iron bloom that ended up being 95% (dumb for not doing math, I know). Everywhere I've looked has said that I can toss it back in the bloomery with more ore and charcoal to get it up to 100+. I tried it with a single small ore to get to 105. The bloom sat on top of the molten texture. When it finished I had a 95 and a 10 bloom. I tried the same thing with the 10 bloom and a bunch of ore. The bloom disappeared, but I can't confirm it became part of the mix since the resulting bloom was equivalent to the total of the ore only. Am I doing something wrong, or does everyone just MATH before smelting? Have you deleted your config files or are using default configs and are still able to reproduce this bug? (Yes/No): Yes (Default config) Do you have any mods other than Forge and TFC installed? (Yes/No): If yes, which mods? Reis Minimap (1.7.10) If you have Optifine or Cauldron installed, can you still reproduce the bug after uninstalling them? (Yes/No): Yes (not installed) Pastebin.com link of the Crash Report: Not a crash

Chances are high there is always some left-over bloom <100 (where 100 = 1 ingot). I simply recycle the left-overs. One time i got bloom enough for 9 ingots, which would be impossible with just ores.

I've been able to combine partial refined blooms just fine. The problem is that this bloom is unrefined from the beginning, meaning I can't work it until it's combined and "melting" it says I will lose it since it is unrefined.

You can just refine it, and then melt it down in a crucible or with a forge and some molds to get a partial ingot.

From the wiki:

Raw iron blooms that are less than 100% cannot be refined, and must be thrown back into the bloomery with more ore to create a larger bloom.

From every single page of the wiki:

Currently under construction for the 79 update.

The majority of the information on this wiki is not currently up to date with the latest version of TFC. This information is to be used at your own risk, as it is possible that is no longer correct in the current latest version of TFC: 0.79.17.645. It is also possible that pages are missing information regarding new mechanics in the current version. For a brief summary of accurate, up-to-date information, please check the Changelog.

Fair enough, that's why I was asking. Tried it out and confirmed. Thank you Kitty :-)
