      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

      There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
      If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
      I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

Eggs and Chicken Breeding, Wheat Seeds and where to get them

So me and my friend started playing this mod on SMP together, both big newbies. We are having big troubles with food, we grow wheat and i kind of figured out that you can cook the eggs.

But still, how do we farm chicken now? Where can i hatch the eggs? And why is it that when i harvest wheat(i did it empty handed, by the way) i only get the wheat and no seeds?

Its getting really annoying. Help.

By the way, i trawled the forum and even tried to google it, with no luck, at all.

Eggs arent hatchable atm.. But you can breed chickens using wheat on two chickens like in vanilla... And it could be cos the wheat didnt grow properly...

What do you mean it didnt grow properly? I harvested it in its final stage and it gave me the wheat.

How many plants do you have?

When I harvest, not all give me seeds, and some give me 3 seeds.

Fully grown wheat gives 1 wheat and 0-3 seeds. You could potentially (with the worst kind of luck) have a field of 64 wheat and not get a single seed back from harvest. Typically what happens is you end up with chests of seeds left over.

That gives me an idea. To the Suggestions section!

A decent chicken coup is a great food source, even if it is a bit time consuming to capitalize on. Mine is just a 5x5 fenced area with a gate. With 4 or 5 chickens, you'll get enough eggs daily to more than meet your food needs.
