      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

      There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
      If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
      I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

Unusable Dorven Realms maps

Dorven Realms generated maps don't work with TFC. Probably because of the water types, but I dunno. Dorven Realms generate map based upon elevation and biome, though. If I can bug DR's author, will it eventually be compatible with TFC? AFAIK TFC creates biome(-like) areas through drainage, temperature, latitude(or longitude?), and elevation. If I could somehow fork DR to include these parameters, will TFC accepts the map and play along? Thanks for responing.

TFC pretty much doesn't use any vanilla world generation at all. It's extremely unlikely you'll get it to work with any sort of pregenerated maps or software.

That is not really a question that can be answered easily in a forum post. If you want to know how the TFC world generation code works then you'll have to go read the code.

 

Basically the only worldgen things that are going to have much of a chance of reliably working with TFC are decorators. So adding plants, trees, pools of oil, oil geysers, etc. That isn't to say that they will all work as the conditions of their generation may not be met in a TFC world. For example forestry bee hives will generate in a TFC world, but not all of them. For example the desert and swamp bee hive can't generate because the variables that forestry uses from vanilla code are the same in all TFC biomes. Any mod that uses vanilla blocks may need either major config changes to replace those blocks or a compatibility mod to be written.

 

In end if you wanted this to work it would have to happen on the Dorven Realms side. So if it is open source anyone can do it, if not then well you'll have to talk to them to make it happen.
