      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

How do you change ore spawn rate?

6 posts in this topic

I was watching Ethos gameplay of TerraFirmaCraft i notice that he always get a nugget everytime he sieves. So i sieve in my Minecraft world and i didn't got too many nuggets. In sieving and mining my question is how do you change the spawn rate of ores and while sieving?

You cannot change the rate at which you get nuggets from using a gold pan. Etho edits his videos to contain just the entertaining parts, so while it may seem that he's consistently getting nuggets every time, he's really not, but he edits all the times he does together so it looks like he does.

In the TFCOre.cfg. The spawning rate is that each chunk has a 1/rarity chance of being epicenter of a vein. So smaller is more common and larger is rarer. Be warned if you increase ore spawn too much the veins can overlap to the extent the game crashes looking for raw stone.

Another option is to look in the TFCConfig.cfg for the units in each ore piece. You can adjust each of these separately. So the veins could be the same rate, but have a greater return.

Thanks for answering my question. But i still have one more question how do i increase the rate of pieces of ores (In the surface) higher?

Do you mean the nuggets on surface? You can't directly, but the number of them will increase slightly with an increased size and number of ore veins. If you mean ore near or at surface. In TFCOre.cfg there are configurations for surface veins for some ores. You can also adjust the height parameters of any of the ores via this config. It is pretty straight forward config.
