      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

      There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
      If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
      I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

IMPORTANT: 0.79.23+ Compatibility (Addons & Alloy Calculators)

4 posts in this topic

While it hasn't released yet, it is important to note that 0.79.23 has broken compatibility with the majority of addons, due to general code cleanup and renaming of some variables. If your addon is compatible with 0.79.23, please make sure to update your topic title accordingly. Alloy Calculators have also been slightly broken, due to a change in the percentage ranges for Bismuth Bronze and Red/Blue Steel. Topic titles are edited by clicking "Edit" on the original post, then clicking on "Use Full Editor."

All addons with [TFC 0.79.22] or earlier versions in the title should be considered incompatible with 0.79.23, and are to be installed alongside 0.79.23 at your own risk, as it will very likely crash your game and possibly corrupt saves.

Those of you who are playing without any addons can ignore this post and update your game as usual.

I've gone through and updated the titles of any 79 posts that included a + in their version number and removed it. The only valid title with a + from this point forward is [TFC 0.79.23+]

Please also note that any 0.79.23+ addons will not be compatible with 0.79.22 or earlier versions of TFC.

Any replies to topics asking addon authors to update their mod to be compatible with 0.79.23+ will be removed and the poster will be PM'd a link to this thread. Repeated offenses will result in the user getting a warning point for spamming. Addon authors have been notified in multiple ways already of this change, they do not need to be pestered on the addon topic as well.

Please allow the addon authors time to update or post themselves that they are 79.23+ compatible. If you are not the addon author, or do not have access to the addon's code to confirm, do not respond to the topic saying that you think it is compatible. There may be incompatibilities in the code base you are unaware of. This could result in someone corrupting their save because a well meaning player responded saying it is compatible, when in reality it really wasn't.

Updated the OP due to the fact that Alloy Calculators are also now slightly broken. The percentage maximum of Copper in Bismuth Bronze and Black Steel in Red/Blue Steel has been decreased by 5%.

Just a heads up to other devs, 0.79.25 causes an error(if you are creating any sort of tools or armor of your own.) due to a minor change in itemTerraTool, regarding the tooltip functionality.

The only way that would cause an error is if you were calling

ItemTerraTool.addDurabilityInformation()

before, because the method was renamed to

ItemTerraTool.addSmithingBonusInformation()

In reality, you will not get this error if you create any sort of tools or armor unless you overrode addItemInformation on your item and were calling that method because your armor or tool class wasn't an extension of the TFC tools or armor. If you are implementing tools or armor that are extensions of the TFC items, you shouldn't be overriding addItemInformation anyways, and if you were, you should just call super.addItemInformation so you never have to touch our tooltip info.
