      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

still about survival right?

TFC2 will still be about making minecrafts survival mode more realistic right? i loved how TFC changed mincrafts survival for the better and i would be really sad to see this not being a thing in TFC2

I'm not a dev, but I'm going to go out on a limb and ask can you define what you mean by "about" better?  If you mean no fantasy creatures or magic, then you're probably going to be sad.  but I'm pretty sure TFC2 will have most if not all of the same more-detailed/believable mechanics for producing tools, alcohol, charcoal, taming animals, etc.  But there'll be more beyond that.   I'd guess though, that whatever that result, there'll probably be someone who will mod it to try to remove the fantasy elements, for those that aren't into fantasy.  Personally I look forward to having more to do than smithing.

what i mean is no punching wood with your hands and no wooden tools. prospecting for ore and just general realistic survival, i love the consept of magic to add something more than just metal working to do. but i really dont hope they stray away from the original consept of an inproved survival mode

I don't think you need to worry about that at all.

First I'd like to point out that it has never been about making survival mode more realistic. You can read this post for more info on that.

As for the basic believable mechanics like not being able to punch trees, yes those will still be in TFC2. The ore system and prospecting is going to be different, but that's because of how we're changing world generation and tier progression.

You don't have to worry about TFC2 going back to vanilla's "easy mode"
