      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

Have you read, understood, and followed all of the rules listed in large text at the top of the suggestions forum?(Yes/No):Yes
Answering "no" to the above question will result in your post being deleted.

This is a suggestion where I have thought of adding in world generation settings.

1)Temperature Range

Temperature range matters in the case of someone willing to generate a world where temperature is drastically changed when walking 1000 metres North. E.g. Temperature range can be from 10,000 to 450,000 metres.

2)Size of Temperate Forests

Size of forests would mean the average size of temperate forests so there can be two options in the setting. E.g. Temperate Forest Size Range: 25 - 250 metres, Avarage Size: 100 - 3000 metres

3) Size of Land Bodies

Setting can be: Biome Size(0.25 to 16) 1 = default

Please pardon me if I might have posted in a related topic that is already posted.

The problem with this suggestion is that it doesn't really work well with the island-based world generation that we're doing for TFC2. The way we've got climate set up, an entire island is a single climate and the islands range from cold, to tropical, back to cold again for the 9 islands that generate in the north/south direction. The only way Temperature Range could be implemented is if it was a config to add more islands to the north/south direction that have even more extreme climates. Forest sizes might be doable, but the beauty of not having a set config option is that there can naturally be different size forests, instead of them all being the same, configurable, size. As for size of land bodies, that's a no can do. The islands in TFC are very specific sizes due to the way that we generate them, and how we are handling travelling between them.

What about adjusting seasons length? Would it be possible?

Year length, and therefore season length was already configurable in TFC1, and it will also be configurable in TFC2.

Could you configure at what y coord you would spawn, so if I wanted a northern start for example?

Ok.

So... does this means we no longer have continents? That is what I was thinking about after all because what if someone wanted a little bigger world with larger biomes?

I was wondering if it would be possible to have a setting to change the length of a day by a factor. So two would make the day and night twice as long, three would be three times as long, etc. I understand a lot of things are hard coded, like monsters don't depend on day light but spawn between a range of ticks. But adjusting for that and light amount would be nice.
